I don't agree with your sentiment. CPsi may have some screwy erratas but I use material from here much more than any other complete book. I was really looking forward to complete scoundrel and adventurer, and while not bad books per say I don't recall anything I MUST use in either book when I make a PC.

On the other hand CPsi is a book I always have a use for.

Just remembered another feat I always use: practised manifester.

Maybe your expectations of it were too high?

I agree that there are some things in it that you really need to use or are very nice to use as a psionic character. Given that it is the only other devoted psionic source book this should not come as a surprise. It is just that a great deal of its content is not particularly useful or actively weakens psionic characters.

I will suggest Egoist/Slayer gish. Remember the research: you can research new powers off of other classes' lists by paying XP. Use it. Heck, go Elocator, too. Extra 5 foot step and float through the air.

It's not worth the ML loss to get the extra 5' step, and it's not worth the feat cost to get the "float through the air".

A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Elocater is a great PrC for psywars. So what if you lose 6th level powers?  They suck anyway, you gain plane shift and teleport.  Practised manifester once again makes up for it which you need to take anyway for schsm. I don't see how elocater can tank though.

I agree it might be good for a Psiwarrior, but not for a Psion-gish. It could be decent for an Ardent, especially if you were planning on taking Spring Attack anyway for some reason.

Elocater also can be useful for a psionic monk. Especially for a halfling with the substitution levels.
