We list a few things-- some serious and some not so much- that we think are analogous to gaming as advice for GM's so they can plan for their games in a new way.

Our icebreaker is things we do geekily that usually are not considered nerdy pastimes.

So what do you think about the episode? The topic? What do you nerdify up?

So first off, I am soooooooo glad my job during the summer involves me seeing absolutely no one, or I would not be able to listen to these podcasts to pass my time. They're hilariously NSFW. They're also very helpful, because I like the differing opinions and the range of topics covered.

I was listening to the podcast and trying to think of an answer to your question and my thought was "Gaming is a lot like poker and/or blackjack" and then, five minutes later, BAM! Poker.

Way to steal my ideas before I have them.

While I don't have anything to add at the moment (I know, I'm dull

) I do want to comment to say that I really enjoy/agree with the comment of gaming being like improvisational theater.

I think I'm going to have to cut a conversation in our next upcoming episode because while we pride ourselves on our explicit hilarity, we may have found the limit.

I really am glad you start it all off with "Gaming is NOT like storytelling." Too many people I've played with need to learn this.

Word. The amount of times I've had to tell GMs, "no, my character does NOT do X" is stupidly high. After I took my highly visible revenge, it's not a problem now.

I liked the episode a lot.

Sound quality - excellent.

Topic - interesting.

I had always said that 'gaming is like making a movie' but I hadn't broken it down into the director/producer thing. Very clever. I am not such a good producer.

I also liked the short order chief thing - I agree that if you can serve one wonderful meal and the rest suck, you need work on your GM'ing.

Very nice episode.

Just my opinion but I think Zeke won this one. Not just the nerdifying of it, but then taking his math to the masses (i.e. the bar).

Another good episode.

One audio thing, and it may just be my hearing, but when the music is playing and someone is talking it's harder to understand. The music just seems to be as powerful as the talking and it gets jumbled. Same thing happens when they do that on the radio, so like I said...it could just be me.

The specific music that I found most interfering was the music played before/after the Douchbag of the Week portion. It also happens with the music at the end of the cast. And it generally has a bigger impact if it's one of the guys talking.

I really like the Douchebag music (though Zeke's was good too :wink).

I think one of the issues is that now that we levelate it, that program brings everything up to the same level, so while I decrease the music in editing, I think levelator may be brining it back up.

I'll try to have the music *too* low in editing so that if levelator brings it back up, hopefully it won't be a ton.

Are you talking about the songs you made up for everyone an episode or two ago (Josh "right, right, right, right!")? I loved those...

If it was in this last episode, then I missed it and will have to go back for review, but the interfering music was definitely of the canned variety.

And I don't really have any problem with the music itself as far a quality, or having it there...just an issue with the volume, so I think Meg is right about the levelator thing.

Zeke singing the BG musical songs for each of us was so awesome. I thought the song he had for me was the best

The song though in this episode was when we were introducing the Douchebag segment, Zeke sang "Douche... baggggg!" and then Josh said "We should get some douchebag music" and Zeke said "I just provided some."

It should be noted that my singing little songs is not some clever little act for the podcast. I do this throughout my daily life. Just ask my partners.
