Ritual Rules
« on: June 01, 2008, 11:26:57 PM »
I was looking at party optimization, and was trying to decide the makeup of an optimal party.
The first good party to jump to mind was the classic Ftr, Rog, Wiz, Clr.  But I really liked Pal, Rog, Wiz, Wld for their powers and abilities.

Initially I gave my support to the classic party because the cleric could perform Religion and Heal based rituals much more easily (read: without using feats).
Then I read the Ritual rules, and looked at a couple of rituals.

I found that a human or eladrin wizard could easily take up the religion rituals with little effort.  That left me with the Heal rituals including the ever-desired "Raise Dead".

As it turns out, you don't have to be trained in a skill to pick up a ritual, but most rituals require a skill check.  Upon further review, you can see that the Raise Dead ritual does not actually require a heal check.

Does anyone have evidence to the contrary?  If not, then the only rituals the Wizard can't perform well are Cure Disease, and Remove Affliction...  And I'm pretty sure a party can find a way around those...
