Anyone like sailing, btw?
I've got the basic licence and it's fun, but I haven't sailed in a year. Now that it's summer break, maybe I should give it another try, though I'd probably need to relearn a lot of stuff from scratch. :D

I've been sailing once or twice, while I was in the Boy Scouts.

I'm going to drop out of this. I have important things to do which cannot be distracted with another PbP game.

Also, I'm too lazy to add all the rest of my powers into the sheet.
Witty sayings? Nah, not right now. Currently playing Dwarf Fortress and League of Legends. I really recommend League of Legends.

Actually, Bowen, I just noticed that you seem to be using Student of the Sword to MC Fighter. I hope you don't mind that I must now burn you on the stake on grounds of blasphemy. Nothing personal. ;)

Yes, you should.

Anyway, as for that case by case approval business, the stuff I'm ogling is:

  • Divine Rage [Divinity], Dragon 368 page 58 - Essentially a "fuck off, I want my Oath reroll" button.
  • Living Death Strike, Dragon 372 page 21 - Probably better than the PHB II choices for the level and thematic.
  • Soul Seeker, Dragon 372 page 21 - See LDS.

Holy shit you guys posted a lot while I was gone. A guy goes off to work and finds people finish sheets, make backup characters, and then drop out before he gets back to post. XD

With the speed this is getting off the ground, I can barely keep up with who's in and who's playing what. So far I see we're going with Level 12, and for players with definite running concepts, there's:

Bowen: Bugbear Ranger/Fighter (Presumably Striker focused)
Alterform: Elf Tempest Fighter-m/c-Ranger (Defender, Presumably Striker focused)
Risada: Shielding Swordmage? (Defender)
Agita: Avenger (Striker)
Dither: Tactical Warlord (Leader)

Players who have expressed interest but who are not yet committed either to the game or to a character:
PI: Psion (tentative, depending on DM fiat)
Nanshork
arch.arc
More?

Oh, and a feat for you unarmed bastards:

Improved Unarmed Strike [Heroic]
Benefit: Your fists now have +3 proficiency and have a damage die of 1d8. Additionally they have the offhand and defending properties. You can enchant your fists with the Enchant Magic Item ritual. You must have at least one hand open to make Unarmed Strikes, even if you are kicking, elbowing, or using any other form of body-based combat.
Special: Unarmed Strikes may be considered as a valid choice for the Arcane Implement Training feat.

If I remember correctly, there is a feat that lets you do unarmed attacks and treat them as though they were a club (1d6 damage, etc), I think maybe in Dragon somewhere? I don't remember what it's called or where it is exactly, though your's is better anyway so it doesn't much matter. :)

So far as characters I've got preliminary builds of an Elf Druid, and I tried seeing if I could make an effective Dwarf Shaman. I may also try a Bard or Artificer, depending.

My character is almost done, just need to add the descriptions of item powers and get DM approval on the following:

As far as Dragon Magazine goes, I'd love to get a Periapt of Cascading Health (Dr 369) and the feats Prime Punisher (Dr 373) and Called Shot (Dr 368) :)

@Venn: Jep, I'm Striker focused :)

Anyone with a Str primary will probably also want to look into Belt of Mountain Endurance (Dragon 365). Str mod to Surge value. Allow me to repeat: Str mod to Surge value. A bit on the expensive side, however, and too high-level to be affordable right now.

So, dilemma number 542...

Which of these 3 feats?
1) Predatory Action
2) Weapon Focus
3) Weapon Expertise

Weapon Focus and Weapon Expertise. Weapon Focus is great with multi-attacks, and Weapon Expertise is pretty much mandatory, the only question is when to take it.

Yeah, from the look of things I'm only going to be able to fit in one of them, unless I ditch Two-Weapon Opening at level 20...

Do you qualify for HB mastery? If not, then it may indeed be best to ditch TWO, otherwise ditch something else instead.
Yesterday, I saw you Were swapping out a lvl 15 daily for Quicksilver Stance at 16. You could ditch that feat, as lvl 15 gives the Ranger Blade Cascade.

With Demigod I'll qualify for HBM at level 21.

EDIT: I can't believe I completely forgot about Blade Cascade :embarrassed

So the question then basically becomes, do I want Weapon Expertise or Weapon Focus first? I'll be getting one at level 8 and one at level 18...

EDIT2: I'm currently leaning towards Weapon Focus...

EDIT3: The item and 2 Paragon feats I was talking about earlier:

[spoiler]
Quote
Periapt of Cascading Health Level 10+
Adventurers feel a little more confident fighting dragons
with this bauble in their possession.
Lvl 10 +2 5,000 gp Lvl 25 +5 625,000 gp
Lvl 15 +3 25,000 gp Lvl 30 +6 3,125,000 gp
Lvl 20 +4 125,000 gp
Item Slot: Neck
Enhancement: Fortitude, Reflex, and Will
Power (Encounter): Minor Action. You end one condition
that a save can end.
Level 20 and 25: You gain a +2 power bonus to all other
saving throws you make this turn.
Level 30: Whenever you end a condition with this
power, you ignore aftereffects that condition has.

Quote
Prime Punisher
Prerequisites: 11th level, Prime Shot class feature
Benefit: If no other ally is adjacent to an enemy
you are adjacent to, for melee attacks against that
enemy, you receive any bonuses you gain while using
your Prime Shot class feature.

Quote
Called Shot
Prerequisite: Prime Shot class feature
Benefit: Whenever you successfully hit a target
against whom you received your Prime Shot bonus,
your attack deals an additional 5 damage.

I find it interesting that I didn't notice there was a new post for almost 1.5 hours.

With Demigod I'll qualify for HBM at level 21.

EDIT: I can't believe I completely forgot about Blade Cascade :embarrassed
Neither can I. For shame. :P

Your choice. Weapon Focus does scale faster than Weapon Expertise.

Anyway, I should get working on finishing my equipment.
