Yeah, you're going to need a smarts roll for that. Identifying types of metal in a small metal device is nigh impossible by the normal eye.
"So, what's next? Do we check out that car?" she asked, her curiosity starting to rise...

"What's important about this car, Nerine?" Once again, Guy ruins a facial expression by having huge sunglasses. Of course, without them, it'd probably be worse.
Witty sayings? Nah, not right now. Currently playing Dwarf Fortress and League of Legends. I really recommend League of Legends.

After nearly a minute stopped at the corner, the light changes and the sedan turns left.  As it starts to drive away, the needle of the compass goes slack as whatever it was that pulled it to life seems to have left its range.
If you want to give chase, you can. Otherwise, you can continue planning whatever it is you plan on doing.
Kevin smirks, and decides that letting the van go might be a bad idea... so he tries to stop the electrical flow to the spark plugs.

Kevin concentrates for a second on the sedan as it begins to pull away, and a small charge of static electricity can be felt by those sitting next to him as a current seems to rush out.  Unfortunately, the car doesn't stop as intended, but leaps forward, as if part of a drag race.

Disappearing from sight around the corner, the faintest sounds of a scream reach Guy's hyper-sensitive ears right before a faint crunching echoes back into the restaurant.
The cake is a lie.

"Someone just got hit by something. No one else heard that scream, did they?" Guy gets up. "Someone should probably pay. Kevin, come with me." Guy gets up, tapping his way to the door, and out into the street. He's almost running.

Kevin pockets the compass, tosses his cell onto the table, quickly mutters "911 works here" and follows the blind wolfman... the lead that he has becoming nil in short order.

"I'm going after them. I don't have any money to pay anyway..."She says, then runs after the pair.

I don't care about the squad car, send another escort to pick me up. I can't wait here all afternoon!
Davis & Ana can introduce themselves however they'd like. No one's injured, but the car is pretty much totaled. Everyone but the angry guy look at least minorly shaken.
Kevin scans the nerve fiber patterns of the crowd, looking for anyone that doesn't fit his idea of average human...

Really? That seems like a remarkably... minute amount of electricity, especially for what you're proposing. Alternately, an insane amount of detail.
"Sir, where is it that you need to go so urgently that you cannot help the people that your squad car might have hit?" He slides off his glasses, and the disapproving look on his face is evident, even with the misted over eyes.
It's a matter of focusing on people one by one, and more then likely it won't actually work... that doesn't stop a character from trying.
We're both okay, little girl.  My driver lost control of the car and hit a fire hydrant, but no one was hurt.  It's all okay.I assure you, no one was injured.  I am Mayor Cutting, good sir.  This is my wife, Lana. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.  I'm sorry if I seem in a hurry, but these past few days have been busy.  I really need to get back to the office, you understand.

Guy:
Make a notice roll for your scent. And a spirit roll
Kevin:
Make a spirit roll, and a notice roll at -6. It's damn near impossible to tell what you're looking for, but maybe you'll get lucky. :P
