INIT: 14

I stood there feeling helpless. Less than 10 feet away, the Jack and Jackson are grappling on the ground, Jackson struggling for his very life... The horses are nearby skittish due to the scuffle and gun shots, and Cedric is standing beside me.

I glanced around me. There was a sagebrush between Cedric and me, and the two on the ground. Maybe if I lit it on fire, I could duck behind it and pretend that I was the Voice of God-- no.

Then something from my childhood clicked.
"I got an idea-- Make sure the Jack doesn't go anywhere-- and get ready to scare this horse!" I say to Cedric as I make my move.

I MOVE to grab the rope from the closest of the nearby horses. I quickly tie it around the pommel of the horse, giving me a strong anchor... this sort of thing came STANDARD to me, thanks to my upbringing on my folks ranch...

If I don't see him I'll spend an action point: 5 for a total of 27.
Cursing at the impervious thing, Cedric briefly considers diving onto the resilient son of Satan. He points his rifle at the ground roughly five feet away from the horse, "Tell me when, preach'."

I moved towards where Jackson tussled with the creature-- The two kicked around in the dust, I hoped that I could touch the Jack so I could make my attack-- I attempted to loop the rope around the creature's neck.
j0lt, I'm not sure what all the modifiers are that are coming into play, but he's in a Grapple AND he's prone. My attack result:
Touch attack, unmodified (1d20+2=15)
If Successful:
"Now!!!" I shouted. With any luck, my plan will work!
If Unsuccessful
"Come on, dang it! I NEED this--" I chided, as the Jack slipped his head from my attempt.

On cue Cedric pulls the trigger on his rifle, sending a bullet and -more importantly- the cacophony from its muzzle only feet from the already frightened beast. It is at this point it occurs to him that Jackson might be dragged off too. Too damned late, though, unless he can free his ally from the demon's grip before the animal takes off.

Jackson realizes what's happening right at the same moment as the Jumping Jack does -- too late.  He tries desperately to release himself from the Jack's clutches, but the Jack just hangs on, his claws digging through the skin of Jackson's arms.  The already nervous horse bolts as the ground behind its hooves explodes, carrying both Jack and Jackson off into the darkness.

Frank tries to keep his eye on the fast-moving Jack. He can't afford to let him escape a second time.
Not sure if I can still spot him now, otherwise:
Spot: 11

Damnit!

AP: 5 for a total of 16.

If I spot him, I'll fire one of my silver bullets:
Attack: 12

This is starting to get annoying...

AP: 1[/url for a total of 13 :wall

Damage: 9

Yeah, now I roll above average :P

Attack and damage get a +1 bonus if Jack is within 30 ft. (Point Blank Shot feat)
Bones scrambles back to his feet, scorched and furious. With his revolver in hand, he glares around, staring intently after the departing fiend.
Spot and Listen checks to find Jack. If I have any idea of his location, I shoot at it.

Spot check and Listen check: (1d20+9=13, 1d20+9=11)

Well, crap. Time to expend an action point to improve that Spot check. Action point: (1d6+3=9)

That brings my Spot check up to a respectable 22, hooray.

Revolver attack roll: (1d20+4=16)

Damage roll: (2d6=8)
Frank
You don't see any sign of where he is.  (you can only spend one action point a round anyways)
Bones
You spot the Jack lurking at the edge of the firelight by the faint reflection of his eyes.  The muzzle flash from your revolver kills your night-vision momentarily and when you look back, he's gone.
Sean
You see only darkness around the burning building.
Sean, Bones and Frank
The three of you hear another gunshot from around front of the building and what sounds like a horse galloping away.
Next Round!  (no threat in sight, so you can act out of turn)

"Ah, hell. If that demon scared my horse off--" Bones stops midsentence and looks thoughtful, absently beating out a stray flame on his sleeve. "Might have to thank him before I shoot him." He sprints around towards the front of the building, still trailing smoke.

Cedric curses; this was about as wrong as the preacher's plan could have gone, unless he planned on hanging Jackson out to dry. The ex-solder pushes the thought to the back of his mind as he takes off in the direction the horse did. He'd seen the thing take bullets and barely flinch... If anyone would be hurt after this, it'd be Jackson. Why the hell did we do this, anyway?
