Owwie, it hurts! Do it some more! (Help with a masochist build)

Okay, here's the thing. I've got an epic Fighter in a game where the players get divine ranks.

Yes, I know. What was I thinking? The other players seemed traumatized from watching me play casters though.

He's essentially got a masochist build going with Karmic Strike and Robilar's Gambit. On top of that, Warchanter levels for Song of Recklessness silliness, PA-Leap Attack-Shocktrooper-Combat Brute-Knockback, and he wields a glaive.

The main problem? The guy has little staying power. Even counting high HD all over and high Con, everyone at these levels still relying on HP damage does it by the buttload anyway - and being that jacking up AC is hardly a fantastic idea thanks to his main source of power, you can easily see how that's not the answer. My group nearly had a fit at the idea of a Retributive Amulet (56k, BoED, attacker takes half damage), so I'm trying to make it subtle. Keep him going for a reasonable time, not go nuts and keep him alive forever.

Stats (as of now. Deification will make sure they don't matter in a short while): Str 30, Dex 27, Con 24, Int 16, Wis 12, Cha 14.

Since he's going to have god levels, picking the right domains for him will mean a huge boost to his capabilities - but I'd rather find some reliable items to do most of the work since I most likely won't be able to cherry-pick.

Group's also considering going for a "1 epic feat is worth two regular feats" thing so there's a good chance something can be done with it. His build, as of right now, is Fighter10/Monk2/Bard1/Warchanter9. Unfortunately, that much can't be changed at the moment.

So, that's my current situation. What do you suggest?

Actually...ever consider psychic warrior/slayer? Nab metamorphosis and take psion 1/anarchic initiate X, and Overchannel/Epic Overchannel, and you can kick all kinds of ass.

It'll give you better-than-fighter efficiency, nearly as many feats, AND will help you lay the hurt on (while giving you additional pp in epic levels). You can also grab miss chances, all sorts of combat ability, and an epic/deific psicrystal to buddy with you.

Then you can take appropriate domains for crushing illithids/causing chaos/transformations/psionics, and start to seriously crush your foes.

Good stuff.

There's a weapon enchantment that causes you to heal half of the damage you deal, if I recall correctly. Wrathful Healing, I believe? Anyway, that would surely be helpful. Every time he takes a hit, he strikes back, and heals.

Ack. I forgot to mention psionics and ToB are banned in this particular campaign (else I'd have already dipped heartily).

Yeah, it's in the A&EG. I think they are very silly for freaking out over the Retributive Amulet. You should get a Starmantle Cloak and that. You're a freakin' fighter, for god's sake.

You could also perhaps dip into a spellcasting class and pick up the reserve feat that grants you temporary hit points equal to your character level as a swift action (I think that's right).

You're not so lucky as even that. It's from an obscure 3.0 book called Enemies and Allies.

I believe that's Minor Shapeshift. Gonna be a while before I can pick it up, though - it requires access to Polymorph or better, and that's a 4th level spell. Still, the temp HP ain't too shabby, though it's gonna be a buffer at most.

And yeah. The moment I want to freak them out, I'll get a Starmantle cloak.

Way way harder to do this build with no Psionics and no ToB. A good thing to do would try being a duskblade, and use Vampiric Touch, like, a lot. Those temp HP go a long way. Also get a Bodyfeeder weapon, for temp HP when you crit. There's a first level spell that heals you and damages the enemy with a touch. See how much a permanent item of that will cost you (it'll barely make a dent, trust me). I think it was a first level druid spell called Healing Sting or something.

You might head into Suel Arcanamach. I think they get access to Transmutation wizard spells, but I could be wrong. With the accelerated progression, you'll get it sooner than you think. Use Abjurant Champion to progress it, and you'll even have a good caster level.

I'm gonna have to convince them to let me take a second PrC first. (Long story short, there are two DMs, and one of them thinks that preventing PrC multiclassing magically restores balance). On the bright side, as soon as I get a divine rank, I get a domain to go with it so some spell access will be available. I doubt they'll allow me a domain with polymorph in it, though. A good selection would really help (there ought to be plenty of domains that go with a CG chivalriesque warchanter, right?).

Pick a domain with Miracle in it. Then you can cast any 7th level arcane spell or lower (and 8th level cleric).

Heck, one of them is a Warmage/Rainbow Servant, but thanks to the fact he can't be arsed to research his spells, he plays like a Warmage.
