Zoos FTW!
« on: June 06, 2009, 10:56:27 PM »
ZOOS!!!!

Shewolf, BobismyRhino, and I went to the zoo a while back. Miami Metro Zoo, to be specific.
So here's a start on some of our ZOO PICS, which BimR has been yelling at me to get up. ;)

Been to a Zoo lately? Add your contributions!
Here's a BUG that landed on Shewolf... I don't remember what she called it...

And here's a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach collection. You've been warned, so if you don't like bugs, don't click.

Here's an Onager, commonly referred to as a Desert Donkey!

We stopped by the petting zoo, which had sheep.
They were hungry:

But this one got really angry and had this crazy deep voice:

While we were there (near the petting zoo), we saw some meerkats chilling

And we stopped by an asian river exhibit to see some stuff, including otters.

And when we checked out a lion, he was all like What do you want?

Then he saw Shewolf, and was all, Oh Shit, she's gonna eat me!

And for BobismyRhino, here's one bathing. And one going, hey guys, what's going on?

I have a shit-ton more, but I'm lazy, so here's a start.

I don't have any. We went over two days because the zoo was pretty big, and BimR's camera had day one. I think I got a sloth in that one, but the computer with those images got lost. :(

I plan on getting more up soon. I have special Rhino pics for everyone, which will come later. :D

Don't worry, we missed the Australian exhibit, so we'll have to go back sometime.

Anyways, here's some more.
There was a blue poison dart frog in one exhibit:

And here's another shot of the bathing rhino.

Here are some shots of the tapir we visited. Shewolf and I wanted to send them in to QuestionableContent.  At first he was all chilling in the pool. Then he turns and goes "Whassup?" That was when he got out of the pool and we saw how fat he was...

The otters had a drain the played with...

Here's the Caiman Crocodile. He's being sneaky.

Here's this Green Aracari with a saw-like beak. He eats people. Yup *nods*

This clouded leopard was chilling in the shade, because it was fucking hot out.  He did say hi though.

We saw a glass lizard. I thought it was a snake. I was wrong. Oh well.

We saw this fly river turtle. The only finned fresh water turtle. It has a tapir-nose.

And... for Shewolf... Cape Hunting Dogs.

More later, of course. :P

I fix because I love.

People usually think that I've lost my mind. I haven't lost it, I know exactly where it is: the gutter.

My body is a temple. That is why I make chocolate sacrifices in it every day.

That's why circuses make me sad. At least in a zoo they have a bit of roaming room. But this thread's not for arguing about animals in captivity. :shrug

Zoos make me sad :(

Zoos are the only way some animals are still alive. In the future they will be the only place to find many species.

How would you feel if you were caged and one of a handful humans surviving?  :(

Look, I understand both of your stances. And I respect both of your opinions. But take it elsewhere, please. This thread is for pictures of people's visits to zoos and (this is the key) "FUN."  No more depressing talk, please. :pout

Ditto...

I remember seeing some cool animals, learning some cool facts (showing off some previously useless knowledge), and having a fun couple of days with my friends. :D
