a call for submissions
« on: May 28, 2008, 08:01:07 PM »
Say, would you like to write for the cohort?
We would like to hear from you. we ask for well reasoned well written articles 300-600 words in length. Feel free to branch out to real life or media related topics as long as there is a gameology angle in there somewhere. Not all submissions will be chosen, but all will be considered. If we choose your article we'll let you know via email. Can't wait to read your stuff, Zeke
Send all submissions to: gm@brilliantgameologists.com

What kind of articles are you looking for here? I think I could give this a try at some point.

Basically anything of a sort of conversational/thinky nature. Not so much a "how to build this" or a game review. Rather I would prefer something that deals both with games and the people who play them, kind of like the show.

Any interest in cultural/regional differences in gamers? And their universality too of course.

I would be very happy to do a co-article (haha, get the pun?) with someone. I think it would be great to compare the differences of two groups and combine them into a single story. Anyone want to give this a co (yet another one!)?

As always, I'm happy to co-operate as long as you can co-ordinate with my slow rate of writing.

Wow, I feel vaguely embarrassed at how bad those were.

Neat. We need to discuss this further somehow.

Do you use MSN or GAIM? Perhaps emails if not.

EDIT:- I just noticed the icons we're using. That is awesome  :D

How long is that going to take? It's 0:22 here, so I might not be online if it takes more than 2-3 hours. Not too much of a problem, but I know not to stay up waiting if you come in six hours or so.

*The icons cause the universe to implode*

(I apologise, I'm not much for articles)
My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
[spoiler]Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.

Heh... I didn't know how often you check that email addy. As someone that has multiple accounts, I know what it's like to miss one. Thus the heads up here.

How long do you want the articles to be, because I could write  a few articles on highschool gaming and culture.

300-600 words is the basic idea. If the article is longer I'll take it, but I may want to break it up into a couple of installments.
