Should we discuss strategy here?
Greth definitely wants to spend some time trying to use psionics and/or magic to investigate this group before going out trying to infiltrate them (or maybe while someone else is trying to infiltrate them, if we decide to split up for a bit). We have several powerful magic users and psionicists in our group, and I see no reason not to leverage their capabilities before we start just blowing things up randomly to get attention from a group that may or may not even be looking.
And I'm not really sure how that's going to convince them that we're on "their side", either. It's not like all "bad guys" are on the same team, or something. They might not even care if we hate Selectra, and burn her building to the ground. They might even see us as competition, if they think we're some new "gang" moving into town.
Now, on to capabilities: Greth can use Psychic Reformation to change his last 5 levels of feats and powers several times per day if he wants (with no XP cost), and Professor Kanatash can do the same. Between them, they can manifest just about
any psionic power of 6th level or below (
6th level domain powers other than Shaper that aren't on
any Ardent mantle are the exception).
This gives us access to a huge amount of resources that we could use for this, including
divination, scrying, altering and reading people's memories, magical travel, etc. I know that the "Southern Magician" is also a "Diviner". So with all this magical might, we should be able to figure a few things out about these people, especially if we can get our hands on one of their members (or at least an item of theirs to start). If we need to leave town before using this stuff to avoid triggering the authorities "radar", that shouldn't be a problem.
It is also possible for Kanatash to manifest powers
from his psicrystal, if he redoes his feats a bit as described above. Given that the psicrystals are very small and sneaky, we could probably use this to our advantage somehow. ("Plant" one in someone's backpack, if we figure out even one member of the Shadow Den, etc).
And it is possible to manifest psionic powers through
Remote Viewing (which is basically like Scrying, with some rather important differences, like this one). So if we find out even a single member of this organization, we could use Remote Viewing to "scry" on them, and then manifest an
Anchored Navigation to tell us exactly where they are. If we do this enough times, we should be able to catch them while they're in their "hideout" (or whatever). We could even use Divination powers beforehand to tell us
when to do the Remote Viewing, so we don't have to waste XP and power points manifesting it over and over again at random times.
So given all of this, how about the following for a plan of action: 1) Gain some small scrap of info (a name, an object, etc) to go on, and then leverage our divinatory and scrying powers to learn what we can from this. We should be able to figure out a few locations and people tied to the Shadow Den from this, at the least.
2) Next we can consider abducting one of their members and probing his memories, and even implanting false ones, and use this to find more about them and even infiltrate them (we could plant a memory that one or more of us is already a member, use magic to impersonate the guy we abduct after probing his memories to get enough information to impersonate him reliably, etc).
