My guess:
We're looking at TML's character's homeworld, and in the end we're supposed to help him fight off the invasion of the evil positive energy creatures. Or, conversely, help the evil positive energy creatures attack the negative energy beings.

ar to the answer. I've thrown out a few red herrings, and despite my signature I do like me some multiple meanings, but I doubt that the eventual explanation will seem asspullish. Oh, and the thread title is almost completely irrelevant. I just named it that because I was replaying Chrono Trigger. That's the one red herring I feel a little bad about, but with a bit of a lateral reading it still works.
Anyway, the page or so of backstory should be enough justification for any number of giant mechas, monster infestations, mad villains, espers, aliens, sliders, and spiky-haired henches. I'm initially leaning a little more on classic sci-fi from the nineteen hundreds than anime to be honest, but if the first one who complains gets the job foisted off onto them
.
Not that I'll be DMing full time, of course. I fully expect to badger other people into action.
Also, I think I may have been doing too much work with The Holders series. It seems to be infecting my writing.
Anyway, I'm figuring on another set of reactions, before you all get unceremoniously dumped back where you were. Well, mostly where you were.
Shame about what happened to the Nanohan's ship, though.
