Actually I am stunned there are not MORE people admitting they cheated on this thread. I mean we are only human.

As the thread creator, I'm pretty surprised by that as well Shologar.  My theory is that the players on this and other min/max boards try very hard to "win" through using the rules as given, instead of breaking the rules and defeating the purpose of those efforts.  But it might also simply be a bias based on the voluntary sample audience of respondents to this thread =P

Well... that and the fact that cheaters are mostly all liars, also. :P

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.

I cheat all the time.  I make up stats, I fudge rolls, I increase my AC on the fly, I do it all................

As a DM.

for me, as a DM, it was watching the players wipe out all my +2 party's appropriate CR dragon encounter in the first round of combat.  the lowest initative mod in the party was about +10....

so I retroactively gave the dragon delay death and beastlands ferocity  :D

took a while for the caster to decide to dispel it.

Yes, usually at the behest of the GM.
I don't employ memes. Mass-produced ammunition, even from reputable manufacturers, tends to malfunction on occasion.

Ok, I admit: I recently use the "that was/wasn't my roll" cheat: I generally use spreadsheets for character management and rolling, and as you may know you can request a new roll by hitting F9 in excel, or by just changing any box in the spreadsheet. Now usually, what I do is, I announce an action, and then demonstratively hit F9 to get my roll. But on that occasion there was this one monster which had taken about 200 points of damage already, and had about 10 HP left, and my sheet was sitting on a critical hit with about 160 damage or so, and... ok, I didn't reroll it, I used that crit to absolutely obliterate the remains of the critter. I got to wade in guts, and everyone had fun.

So yeah, I admit I do cheat occasionally as a player :).

You know DM's can't actually cheat, because anything they do counter to the rules is called adhocing, not cheating.
A player once asked me if there was any way to make a Tarrasque more evil... 3 sessions later he was stoned with D20s as the PC led an exidus out of the path of a Dire Tarrasque of Legendary Wonder.

Well, that's a matter of perspective. Ad-hocing an encounter to make it a bit harder or easier is ok, but they shouldn't start ad-hocing everything, or the group will become a mess.

Look, when you have a barbarian that deals 1d12 +8 and a paladin who deals 1d6 +3 it's your job as DM to keep the ghame fun for both players, even if it means bending or breaking a few rules.

Like, how? It's a consequence of their class choices. Give the Pally a bit more spotlight in non-combat situations, he picked the class for a reason, not just for the occasional smite.

Or, I don't know throwing something out there with DR 10/good, make that Bless Weapon spell worth it.
