James,

I'm fine with your LA rules, I won't be using them. If manifesting is unavailable while metamorphed, I may end up not getting the skin of proteus. I'll still go with the whole let my mount pwn everything, but my build will change a bit. Again, I'm not trying to really abuse metamorph or even make it that much more complicated.

Also, your thoughts on Crystal Master PrC over at Mind's Eye?
Is it allowed?
If so, do all levels count toward Psicrystal advancement?

@PhaedrusXY - I think there's an enhancement mod for precise shot for weapons, and under magic/psionic transparency there's an item for precise shot I think in CMage that works for spells (would translate over).

Speaking of magic/psionics transparency, what about items like orange ioun stone and rings of arcane might? things that raise caster levels? I could understand a no to ring of arcane might because it specifies arcane but not divine (though if I were a DM I would probably allow it. Arcane casters get all the cheese, anyway) but orange ioun stone just says +1 caster level.

OOC-well for that matter he could just ride on my sword, that's about 15' ;)
OOC - That's what SHE said!  But, otherwise, that works for me, if you guys are willing.

Having only glanced over it, I think I'm going to say it will stack, unless "DM puts his foot down" (ie, if I see some nasty abuse w/ it, I'm going to nerf it back).

I'm an old school AD&D person, and the abuse gained from changing shape is just horendous in this edition (and it was already bad in previous editions).  I'm a pretty staunch believer that Druids should be able to use this class ability (as they had it in AD&D too), but due to the wicked strength of it, the confusion it causes, and everything else I wanted to tone the abilities down.

Did I over-nerf them?

On the egoist idea - do you want to develop a unique power that takes its place?  I'd work with you on that one.

Orange Ioun should stack.  Anything that doesn't specify arcane or divine should work...

Oh, and UPD = UMD; I don't know what the RAW is on that one.

Psionics in general are rare in Faerun; I don't know if I'm going to enforce that, though.

FYI: I won't be posting from Thurs afternoon until Tues afternoon.  Vacation.

I'm not in a huge rush to get the game together... Wednesday would be the absolute earliest.

I think I'm just going to rework my angle slightly to incorporate metamorphosis a bit better. I was going to use the permanent ability from skin of proteus to make myself super versatile, but that's okay. I don't need to fill as many roles, and if it ever comes down to being a problem, I can figure it out. I'll get some "real" items instead and be more of a presence. My main schtik was going to be Skin of proteus to be in the form of a pixie and then use Assume Supernatural Ability to nab the pixie's greater invis. That mixed with darkstalker and a decent hide would spell alsmot indetectability. That's okay, though. This will free up metamorphic transfer (though I might still take it, you never know when getting a SNA will be useful...), Assume Supernatural Ability (though I'll probably let my Psicrystal take this one... Hydra or Pixie, haven't decided...) and the 84k. Now I can actually craft some deliciousness. Again, I'm not trying to abuse any rules holes (though I know that changing shapes opens those holes like no tomorrow). I should have a build ready for you soon.

I will have limited connection from the 5th or 6th until the 9th or 10th. I'll be in Virginia, apartment shopping (new job, yay!). I'll do my best, but I can make no promises. After the 10th, though, I should be good to go. Do we have the info we need to get our own game forum? Might be a good place to start consolidating some of this info.

Where in VA? I'm moving there in late June, to the Blacksburg area.

I had seen that in another post, somewhere. I'll be in Newport News. I think we're like 5 hours apart or something. Maybe we'll set up some sort of meet up or something ^_^

I'm definitely going the crafting route. I know that people aren't necessarily keen on it, but /shrug. I may not craft everything, but I'm definitely going to craft some +stat items. Anyone have any suggestions for magical/psionic items?

Outsiders don't die of old age, yeah?
Sorry to jump in, but I saw no one addressed this. Don't know if you're still using Otherworldly or not... Outsiders with the (Native) subtype do need to eat, breath, drink, and sleep. And they die of old age. Outsiders without that subtype don't.
The cake is a lie.

Hmmm. Interesting. That kinda sucks. Oh well. Thanks for the info, Aftercrescent. My overall build is changing again, so I don't really need the stat boosts from venerable anyway :-P

I'm in Williamsburg, but will be busy with a) college, then b) summer session, so I will be effectively useless for meetups.

Dude, Williamsburg is like 20 minutes away from Newport News.... How is that too busy to get a cup of coffee one night? I'll even drive to you, lol.

And don't give me this shit about too busy during summer session. I been to college. Hell, I graduated. My last 6 hours was during summer and with a full time job. So :-P

:( Please don't kick me out of this game just because I don't live in Virgina!

But on a more serious note, if you guys get an in person game, I will be super jealous. And you won't like me when I'm jealous! I turn all green.

I was more reffering to the fact that it's quite a ways away from Blacksburg... or so I would assume.

Not sure if there's anything around here worth meeting up at... I don't even know where the local Starbucks is, although I'm sure we have one somewhere.

That and we have the choice of two gaming stores, one of which was run badly and is now closed, and the other of which is run by some variety of asshole.

There's always... that thing with the people who dress up funny, though.

Whoa. Dress-up... probably not.

Busch Gardens... eh? I was more looking to meet up and be normal people, not just DnD people, lol.

Huh, I'm actually in Hillsborough, NC, which is just west of Durham (and Raleigh).  I drive to a game in Danville about 1/week (less lately, as there's been illness in the DMs family).  But, what-say we try to work something out maybe a weekend within the next two months or something?

Anybody have spare bedrooms or camping gear?

That depends - do you have "any" strength or a static number at any given time :D?
