Been too long though, need to read it again sometime when I have the time :)

Shouldn't be ridiculously hard....

Sounds like either a Mark Twain quote or someone with lysdexia.
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

Right medium, wrong name.  And to my knowledge, this person never stayed up wondering if there is a dog.

Haha! Haven't checked this out for a good while, but immediately when I do, I recognize a quote. As a piece of background information, my favourite bar over here is a place called Hemingway's. No idea if that's from a book or not and I had not seen the English version of this quote before, only the Finnish translation. Anyway, I am quite sure that's a Hemingway quote.

As said, I have no idea what the source is, but the bar has a load of Hemingway quotes printed in their drinklists and such. Lucky me.

I suck at this, so I am going to give you an easy one and fade away until someone gives me another Hemingway to pick up: "He who blinded by ambition, raises himself to a position whence he cannot mount higher, must thereafter fall with the greatest loss."

Perhaps obvious quote was too obvious.

Emily Dickenson. (Made easier by the fact that a play on said quote appears in Portal.)

This quote annoys me greatly. I find it so very familiar, but cannot quite put my finger on it. The style is very similar to Master and Margarita, but I am sure it is not from that book.
