Oh yeah, I rule :P

I told you guys I wasn't crazy, didn't I?
It's not I who am crazy, it is I who am MAD!!!!! *maniacal laughter*

Seriously though, I didn't come up with it, I wish I could remember who did so I could give credit where credit's due.

Shifters are eligeble for the Transformation domain as well. IIRC, they've only got the Shapechanger subtype and can still qualify to become outsiders, via Otherwordly, or Half-Celestial. (Which is costly in terms of LA, but still...)

Not sure if you've both noticed, so it deems repeating... ;)

Shifters/Changelings cannot become outsiders via Otherworldly without either A) DM houseruling or B) Flaws. You'd have to take Human Heritage to qualify for Otherworldly, as the prereqs for it specify races, not a type (humanoid).

Aye, I know, but this was about the Shapechanger subtype, wasn't it???

Isn't everything? ;)

But seriously, yeah, it was, but for the trick Gawain initially posted it required Outsider (Shapechanger) to pull off. :P

Hey, it was a suggestion, not a fullfledged build. :P
It's an intresting route to pursue, at the very least in theory. Besides, if you align yourself with a philosophy, no one can stop you from taking the Transformation domain. Even fluffwise, it's pretty easy to imagine: Chaos, Change, Limbo,...

I know. And it's a good idea. :P I wasn't knocking on it, merely suggesting the next needed step.

I've actually played the Human Heritage->Otherworldly Changeling and it's lots of fun. :D

For some reason, changelings have never appealed to me...
It has something to do with their natural look, I know it's unnatural for an optimizer...

I agree entirely. Of all the Eberonni races, they never inspired me to try to make a character with it.

I can't find the Destroy Undead Turn Undead variant in Expedition to Castle Ravenloft.
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Also, wasn't there some sort of sidebar or ruling or something about anyone being able to take Otherworldly, if you were deemed 'special' and an Outsider was present at your birth? Requires an epic backstory and DM approvement, but still :P

I think it might have been in Champions of Valor, not sure...

Nah, you see Otherworldly is a regional feat, not a racial feat - it depends on your background, not your species.
My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
I can't find the Destroy Undead Turn Undead variant in Expedition to Castle Ravenloft.
It's in the appendix, starting on page 206.
It's all about vision and making reality conform to your vision. By dropping a fucking house on it.

Not really, since you still have to meet the racial requirements to take the feat, and if playing in FR, you also have to be from the specific region..
