There is a guild, adventurers are there, it has a door and it is made out of bricks.

The trip to the adventurers guild occurs with few interruptions, there is plenty of opportunity to take in some of the local sights as you head through the city. Among the typical sights there is a canal that runs through the city and splits the Merchant quarter from the rest of the city. It's a natural feature which the city was built around originally, boats rarely navigate the waters as the canal leads nowhere in particular in any hurry.

If/When you arrive at the guild house you will notice that unlike many of the other buildings in the city which are built in a tudor style with black and white apex rooftops, this large three storey building is made almost entirely out of bricks. It's made sturdy, maybe with adventure in mind ... the aesthetics aren't bad though and the building appears to be extremely lively inside. It's one of the hives of activity in Logrus, most news that comes to the city ends up in the Adventurer's guild sooner or later.

The entrance to the guild is through a pair of sturdy oak doors reinforced with metal. They're both fully open during daylight hours, people come and go regularly. The entire ground floor is dedicated to tables, dart boards, and most importantly a large bar. Lots of people are in here, standing, leaning at the bar, huddled around tables. People don't pay any notice to people coming and going, they don't appear to anyway.

If you take the time to look over the patrons, they range from typical commoners to farmhands out to make a name for themselves, right the way up to adventurers equally or much better geared than yourselves. Upstairs appears to be accessable by invitation only. The barkeep and his maids appear to be the only staff available presently and they're busy serving customers.

Sir Osric will lead by example, claiming a table for the party and waves to an adventurer sitting at the neighboring table.

"Good morning," he greets, flashing his teeth charmingly. "I'm new in town and was wondering if you could help me with a few questions, namely, how your adventurer's guild works and how one arranges to pay respects to the queen."

Being an adventuring guild it is unlikely any of the people here have ever met the Queen personally. As such, the adventurer Osric asks that question of scoffs a little as he barely holds back the laughter. "This aint a nobles bar," he replies amusedly, "and as fer the guild. It ain't so much as a guild as a bar... adventurers come and trade information, it's a good place for a pint or finding a job but it ain't a place you can just join like. You gotta get invited, aint nothing you need ta be thinkin about anyway mate." Nothing is mentioned of what happens elsewhere in the building and once he has answered the questions he'll return to his pint if there'll be nothing else.

"Well, thanks for the info."

Sir Osric moves on up to the bar, and orders a beer from the barkeep, hoping to get some more detailed answers.

"Greetings, good sir. Would you be so kind as to pour me a pint and answer a few questions?"

The barkeep wears a neat but well worn brown apron covered in beer stains. He appears to be a well to do middle aged man with plenty of experience under his belt, a long scar down one side of his neck hints that he has seen his share of battle.

"What're you buying, Stranger?" he asks in a raspy voice as he cleans out a tankard ready for your order.
I'm going to assume that Glisarra (the warforged psion) came with us, and hence that Khas is also in the adventurer's guild.
Khas casually strolls around the room, sizing up its inhabitants.
Khas mentally asks his psicrystal (which he keeps tucked inside his shirt, hanging from a leather thong as if it were a necklace) what it can see using its Mindsight as he walks around. Any minds that stand out as different, either in this room or adjacent ones? (Mindsight reveals intelligence and creature type, and AFAIK neither it nor Telepathy require Line of Effect or Line of Sight). The range is 30 feet.
@Khas
The Psicrystal can detect several intelligent people in the bar, much more intelligent than the average human. Some are on the floor above but others are in the bar itself. One wears a wizards hat and holds a staff made out of twisting wood at the far end of the room. Another is a man sat around a table with a few other people having a quiet drink. This man is dressed more like a warrior, but his mind seems much stronger than the average brawler.
Hiekl complains every few minutes along the way to the guild, things like, "This is stupid ... no, sorry I'm wrong. This is really stupid.", Excuse me, when did we come to a consensus on this?", and "So we're going to this place to listen for rumors right? So at best we'll be on a wild goose chase. And at worst? At worst the goose will be 20' tall and spit poison. Gee, sounds like fun.". But he does follow.

Once there, he cocks his head in the red chitin scaled guy equivalent of raising an eyebrow at Sir Osric and Al-Kassir. "Starting a bit early aren't we? Come to think of it, have at. If your idea of adventure is getting loaded AM, I can deal with that."
You hear some people nearby talking about hunting bears in some nearby woods. Wolves are mentioned too, Cougars up in the hills and other wild critters. For talk of strange and wonderful things, well, none is forthcoming as you eavesdrop but there is a brief mention to bandits in the nearby area that might be planning to make a move on some of the merchant caravans some time soon. It is likely they must be stupid/desperate to try such a thing so close to the capital though. The only other thing you might hear is some upset over how the new queen is being treated by the royal court, a small group in the corner seem to have some interest in politics and wouldn't likely take kindly to your dropping of eaves if they noticed (which they havent)
The barkeep wears a neat but well worn brown apron covered in beer stains. He appears to be a well to do middle aged man with plenty of experience under his belt, a long scar down one side of his neck hints that he has seen his share of battle.

"Pay your respects to the Queen, Stranger?" he chuckles momentarily as he pours up your ale into a battered but servicable looking tankard. "I'd buy that for a high price..." he chuckles some more and the tankard is set down in front of you with a light thud. "That'll be 'alf a royal, Stranger... and if you're serious about trying to meet any of the nobles you should go to the main guard post. Head to the government quarter, you can't miss it with the huge statue of a griffon rider right out front... It isn't too good an idea to be poking around noble areas without permission" Once he has finished speaking he waits for his pay and then he will have to go serve someone else.

"Well, thank you good sir for your time and beer."

Sir Osric will pay the man for the beer and head back to the table.

And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Hiekl does a double take then rolls his eyes. "Well I could stay at the inn playing sit an spin. But then I wouldn't make it to the magic district. Which, when we were discussing it, at the inn, I agreed was a good place to go. I also voiced my opinion at that time that coming here was an abysmal idea. So, was I talking too fast for you? Are we done here? Or are we going to wait for some moon-faced cretin to start a fight?"

OOC - Yes, you can tell that Hiekl was being sarcastic about the 20' tall poisonous goose being fun.

Some people in the bar near to Heikl turn their backs to him and mumble amongst themselves, clearly not too impressed with his estimation of their worth. The barkeep casts a furtive glance in his direction but nothing is said for now, people just continue about their business, talking and drinking. Some play throwing daggers at a picture of Emperor Kirk of Albion and others mull around the noticeboard. All in all, a normal kind of day.
