We should have probably asked the old man if it can fly or not, just to be sure...

"Dark and flamey is hunting Khas, so picking up the weapon was a brainy call regardless. But the thing the hubcap guy was clearest on was that he didn't think we were equipped to take the thing. So it seems like we should either bum around here for the lolz, or we should try to dig up some more info from the non-survivors. I can lend my holographic matrix to whoever wants to play face man if we choose the latter."

It happens to be that you all decide to go and hunt the monster of Khas' dreams, the last known siting of it would be in the mountains to the north east of the capital city. It would be a couple of days uneventful travel by caravan to get to the closest large town which conveniently sits at the edge of that mountain range. The town, Loughborough is a town of ten to twenty thousand people on the main trade route to Germania in the north.

As you enter town you hear all kinds of typical town talk, you hear of a recent beauty pagent that was won by a local girl of exceptional charms Elise Sunfrille. You also hear that at a nearby gentlemans tavern called 'The Silver Stag' a group of adventurers won the yearly hunting contest by presenting a huge prize to the owner of the tavern, the creatures head now serves as a piece of furnature. A sofa to be precise.

If you want to go directly into the mountains you're quite welcome to, you're all rested and it's the start of a new day. The foothills can be seen easily from the outskirts of town and the mountains too stretching far and wide. You know there are military in parts of the mountain range at the moment, clearing out areas for mining expansion but that's not for a long way away from where you'll be heading to find the creature, on the opposite side of the range infact.

If you want supplies, this is the last time you'll find them. You have ample trail rations for your adventures but anything else special would have to be acquired now, nothing worth more than 4,000gp can be bought here reliably but there is often all kinds of different stock available.

About stock
What you can buy up to X amount is to let you know you can get any item in this town up to that value, above that value and it isnt' always certain what you'll find.
Inside of that particular gentlemans club 'The Silver Stag' there are a lot of people inside drinking and talking to each other even thought it's fairly early in the day. It's somewhere around nine in the morning so it's likely just breakfast, the people eating it all are dressed in outfits that make them obvious residents of Kastuul. Desert gear in other words.

Many of them appear to be sitting on a gargantuan sofa, the likes of which you've never seen before... almost looks like it could have been a creature's head one time but no creature you've ever seen and it looks damned comfy. Animal heads line the walls of the establishment, a typical gentlemans pub with a history of hunting competitions and so on.

There's a man behind the bar that gives you a nod as you enter and a couple of girls tending to the customers.

The chair looks like the head of a gargantuan... this creature

"Some adventuring folk caught it for the annual hunting competition, best of about a hundred teams this year. No idea what kind of critter it was but it makes a comfy chair, too big to hang on the walls in any case." Says the barkeep as he overhears your surprised remarks.

"How does the natural ecology a) support monsters like that, and b) support a hundred hunting teams?" Sir Osric asks, puzzled as he runs his hand over the couch.
