"If you make arrangements to be raised then I shall not stand in the way of that, however it is rarely a simple matter. As soon as you reach a consensus I will tell you what I know."

What he knows
He pulls out a book and flicks it open randomly then begins to read, "We have determined from examination of the wounds upon the victims to date, and the analysis of the report and memories of those involved that this creature poses no serious threat to the general populace. It appears to be particularly fond of engaging spellcasters in the wilderness, perhaps it feeds upon them or has a specific goal. Certainly it does not seem magic is the creatures weakness as we have been unable to scry it.

Furthermore we have determined the creature is not of this plane and its body seems resistant to damage. Guild assets... whoops, read too far." The book is closed and the magic eight ball shaken once again. "Tsk tsk..." he goes and says no more.
@Wooden
He doesn't appear to be plotting anything sinister, maybe he just wants to example your bodies after to learn more about this creature.
"I expect my family may claim my remains.  If they do not, you are free to have them."  Al-Kassir has a notable look of disgust on his face at the thought of it.

"Well, you probably won't be getting my body, as my uncle will claim it, but I'm sure you wouldn't need another human anyways." Sir Osric points out. The wizard seemed more a diviner than a necromancer, but you never could be sure.

Aquinas shrugs regarding the matter of the corpse, "If I'm dead, I don't exactly have much use for it. Just don't turn me into a zombie or something, the guys back home may have something violent to say about that."

"Scrying resistance, enjoys eating spellcasters...I guess we won't have any trouble getting it's attention. How many spellcasters DO we have in our number?"

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~"

"That'll have to do I suppose, I only need one at least..., oh and if by any chance you decide against meeting your maker i'm always interested to find new items from other realms. Here or any other magic guild... they often pay for corpses too, can be used for all manner of things. Anyway, I digress" The magic eight ball is shaken again and he rings a bell at which point two younger wizards appear, one with his slippers another with his pipe. "Excellent..."

"So, I take it we are properly informed about this? You don't think it has any vulnerabilities or anything, like to water or ice?

"If it is resistant to damage, use Adamantium..." He takes his pipe off of one of his attendants and it lights as he puts it to his lips for a puff. "If it is resistant to magic... use force effects or try to bolster yourselves instead of it. Elementary suggestions, but you may have overlooked them." He puts his slippers on and shakes the magic eight ball again, "Two more questions at most, I have a Rage Drake for these two to dissect before the end of the day."

What is the best way to defend ourselves against its attacks? And please don't say don't be attacked by it... Will protection from fire help?
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

"I'm sure that would help, but it has claws too.... and we don't have any protection from claws or teeth spells handy. Maybe Stoneskin or some other such spell might be of assistance. Its breath weapon is a fire based attack, mostly." There's a pause for thought and another puff of his pipe... "I suppose that 20,000 Royals reward will attract many like yourselves before long, those trinkets you have about tell me you're not ready to take on such a prize... but what does an old man like me know..." He shakes his magic eight ball again and he shakes his head after reading the message it gives him.

"One more... I hope I don't have to do this all day....." he sighs just imagining how many more people would get the same idea and come to bother him in the next few days or weeks. You don't seem to be the first.

"Perhaps you could compose a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and post it somewhere so people would stop bothering you?" Sir Osric suggests, pronouncing the capital letters and the abbreviation.

"Mhm, perhaps." With your second question asked the Wizard and his two attendants teleport away from the entry hall and the door towards the inner areas of the department of curiousities closes shut infront of you.

"Did we find out where the creature is?  Perhaps I should do some shopping for some adamantine weapons..."

Al-Kassir wanders away towards the merchant district, cape flowing behind, unless someone stops him.

If you are to venture into the merchant district you will find all sorts of things for sale, animals, food, clothing, whatever you desire even magical items. One handed weapons, two handed weapons, someone even tries selling you an over-elaborate three handed weapon that looks too unweildy for any of you to use.

Lots of trading is done on the streets from stalls, other times it can be in shops ranging from small to large franchises. There are even banks here, sure enough you'll find people able to sell you adamantium if that's what you're after. There's a dwarf blacksmith, more than a few human blacksmiths and plenty of weapon shops that you could easily come across just by wandering around aimlessly.

Al-Kassir will search for some adamantine weapons, in particular adamantine short sword or dagger.

"I do not have time to wait for one of these weapons to be crafted.  I have dallied long enough!"

You easily find either of those weapons for sale, both masterwork qualities wherever you find them. They retail for 3300gp each and the merchants selling them are unlikely to shift on the price.

"Thas is top qualitee murchandice ya look'n at lad." Says a Dwarven merchant.

Al-Kassir handles an adamantine broadblade, looking for quality material...

"This one.  Here.  How much?  Dwarf, I am in a hurry.  Be quick, by gods!"
