"Ureegh... phenough... painkillers please." Hans wheezes, leaning on Peter for support. "And are we still unenlightened?"

"Apparently, the road to enlightenment passes by an InfraRed, Otis-IR. He's supposed to be carrying information that I can use to try to get to and fix the problem with the power here. Anyone know how to find an InfraRed? Yell out 'Free Fun for any InfraRed's named Otis'?"

Gwen looks at Hans. "What's your name? You saved us from a fate of unhygienic stickiness. Thank you."

"My name is Hans-O-VER. Nice to meet you." Hans holds out a non-sticky hand and shakes with Gwen.

He then points to Peter and says "And as for finding people, I'm sure this guy is the man for the job."

All of sudden, the lights in the hallway come on...not only that, but come on moreso than they ever have before. Colors are washed out as the entirety of the hallway is bathed in a searing brightness.
All of you are Blinded. Until further notice, any attempt to move or act in a productive fashion should be PMed to me, as I'll have to roll. I'll let you know individually when you can see again. Talking and hearing still work normally, though.
"We need to find the reason for these lights being on so bright! It's against regulations! Power is Money!"

Gwen pauses

"...Uh, there's no power here guys. I dunno what's going on, but I know what the power sounds like when it's on, and this is not normal power. Alpha sector, we got a problem."

"I have seen the light, and enlightenment is bad!" Hans wails. Sonova, sonova bitch! The Commie Mutant Traitors are going to attack while we're blinded!

"Dang!  Okay, people, back to back," says Peter, struggling to shade his eyes and support Hans at the same time.  ("He ain't heavy, he's my Clone!")  "If this is a Commie attack, let's make sure we're ready for 'em."  An idea strikes him, and he pulls up part of his coverall over his eyes.  If the cloth is thin enough, it might provide him with protection from the dazzling light while still allowing him to see somewhat.

Brad dutifully stands up and finds someone to stand back to back with.  This is complicated by the fact that he's virtually blind in the harsh light, and he ends up bumbling around and bumping into people a lot.

Peter pulls up the front of his fatigue shirt and over his head, in a sort of "Cornholio - you're doing it wrong" configuration. While it makes the stinging headache of the lights subside, it still leaves him with practically no vision. At best, he'll be able to tell if something is or is not immediately in front of him.

Hans can't stand it anymore and will jazz dance across the hall, feeling the walls for a light switch.

Gwen-O yells, "Maybe this overbright light is only in this hallway! We have to try to get to another area! And we need to find Otis-IR; he's got information, and I think he has a callout for Troubleshooters!"

Seamus shouts out over his megaphone: "Remain still! It's too dangerous to try to move while blinded. Everyone grab the wall and try to feel your way toward the exit. Take hold of the arm of someone next to you. Do not step on your compatriots, they are the property of Friend Computer."

In the severely limited amount of vision everyone has, the crowd seem to be following Seamus' instructions. People are feeling on the walls in some sort of interpretive dance. The hallway you're in has only one real exit (the outside), so people are making decent progress continuing to move. However, up ahead, you hear what sounds like a tiny struggle, or at the very least, stumbling and grunting.

True to form, Hans will try to sneak past the disturbance and move outside. Being truer to form, however, he will probably only enworsen the situation.

As he comes close to the epicenter of the struggle, he stops the interpretive dance and walks forward obediently, shoulders hunched, like any normal citizen.

"Ennumf oafuff nonmuff air!"  Peter's shirt-blindfold may cut down on the glare from the lights, but it doesn't do wonders for making him understandable.  It could be that he said "We need to know what's going on up there?"  Then again, it could also be that he said "Teela-O has phenomenal hair."

Either way, he continues to stumble up the hall.

Jeb stumbles towards where he thinks Seamus is.  A good citizen should not be left behind!

Brad takes Seamus' suggestions to heart.  And also a bit too literally.  Accordingly, whilst still back to back with another random citizen, he grabs that unfortunate citizen's arm and uses it to feel for the wall, all the while simultaneously shuffling towards the outside in short stop-start bursts that are apparently his attempts to move without moving.  The end result looks something like a strobe illuminaetd wrestling match.  Or it would if everyone wasn't blind.  It's clearly not making Brad happy either.

"Did someone trip and fall up ahead? Is it a wrestling match? Who's winning?" Gwen-O squints her eyes like you do when you're trying to look almost directly at a...really bright light. At an ElectroArc Furnace, for example. She moves toward the exit like the rest of the remaining crowd. "Friend Computer only knows why the lights are acting like this; I hope that we make it to someplace we can see, soon."

The four of you (Hans [COVERED IN RED], Peter, Brad, and Gwen) make a concerted effort down the hallway, and are doing well, until you reach the scuffling noise. Peter manages to miraculously maintain his footing, but the rest of you trip over what feels like a body - at least that's how it feels when you land on it. You put pressure on his chest, causing him to gurgle and groan - but very quietly. You also smell the unmistakeable odor of burnt fabric, and there's a copper whiff of blood and burned flesh in the air as well.

Strangely, you also feel the crinkle of paper, something that he's either holding, or was lying on his chest; you're not sure.

Seamus continues to bring up the rear, with Jeb fumbling close behind. They are now where the 4 others were a minute ago, before they advanced bravely (and clumsily) towards the mysterious body.

The guttural voice of Seamus booms over the megaphone once more:If your comrade has fallen, do not step on them; pick them up off the ground. Remember, we are all brothers and sisters, children of the Friend Computer. If your brother has fallen, pick him up![management](to try to save them from getting trampled.
