oh snap, you do lose your Divine Grace. That's lame. Ask your DM if you can ignore that.

Maybe Blackguard instead of Paladin? You get abilities faster and all. Something like Binder 10/Blackguard 5/Ordained Champion 5 looks very simple and doable, though it only flies very late in the build.

Well, RAW, one could use Paladin of Tyranny w/o issues, since the heterodoxy variant names the standard Paladin abilities.  And, even without, the heterodoxy variant is a variant.

Too bad rangers don't get magic weapon, or Mystic Ranger/Binder would be a great way to do this. You can't even use Sword of Arcane Order, since you must worship Hextor or Heironeous.

Plus one. It's just a variant, after all.

neither Hieroneous nor Hextor has a warhammer as a favored weapon.

Somewhere there's likely a God with the War domain and warhammer as a favored weapon. Just gotta find it :D

Here's my big concern right now: how do I get to binding Tenebrous and level 5 Ordained Champion reasonably early in the build?  We're looking at at least 5 effective levels of Binder (assuming I take Improved Binding,) and then I'll need at least one Cleric level to get into Ordained Champion.

A divine Anima Mage could speed things up a little, but I'm reluctant to center the build around it for two reasons:

1. There are variants, and then there are variants.  I'd rather not base the build on "The DM could decide to get rid of the restrictions."  The DM could also NOT decide to get rid of the restrictions, after all.

2. That aside, the AM is kinda flimsy for a melee combatant.

There's a Dwarf god in Races of Stone, I believe. You also would get to 1-level dip into whatever that dwarf only PrC is that gives you Wis to damage on Warhammers you've crafted yourself. And there's a Dwarf Cleric sub at...4th level(?) where you get +2 damage on warhammers.

An old character I made once upon a time that was big on warhammers. I've forgotten most of the names of stuff, but the meat is still there.
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

Precisely. Thankfully, Ordained Champion is low on prereqs. Shame for losing two CL though.

You might wanna make sure your Cha is high and/or you get implements of binding, though. DC 21 is not quite a walk in the park and you can't take 10 on the check.

Yeah it is!

If thats an option, one can dump Cha and take up the Serenity feat (Drag Comp) to get Wis to everything except HP.

Cha is required for binding, unless you wanna act like an emo.

You get the bind regardless of Cha, Kuro. And not all the vestiges make you 'emo.'  A lot of them are interesting RP restrictions. I'm with wooden and jwo, dumping Cha might be a good idea. ;)

I know. Tenebrous, specifically, makes you be all emo-ish.

And I happen to like Charisma, so I don't like to dump it with any char.

Binder 2 / Anima Mage 1 / Bloodline 1

Problem with that prefix: I'm assuming it uses PA, which isn't going to cut it with Divine Anima Mage.

I suppose I could just add Cleric after that, but BAB is going to be awfully low.

It could use Precocious Apprentice w/ Paladin (since to hit L2 spells it won't happen until L8 paladin or so), or you could use Cleric, or one of the spontaneous casting divine classes and Versatile Spellcaster + Heighten, or Naenhoon + Heighten.

Kind of all depends how you'd want to go, but I don't think you'll be able to fit L9 spells and decent binding in w/ Ordained Champion, and I'm not sure that its going to be worthwhile at the middle levels, either, honestly...  So what I tried to do was fit in as much Binding w/ one of my earlier builds as possible, to get lots of vestiges in, and forget about the spellcasting.

Is there a class that advances both spellcasting and class features?  Would Legacy Champion fit in there?
