After returning home and inspecting his goods, Lim decides to purchase a 'rust' Bag of Tricks, a Deep Crystal Dagger, and a large store of fine wines, cheeses, and sweetmeats he keeps in his bag of holding.  Some of these he enjoys while perusing the book.  What spells or abilities could he learn from the book?

The book seems to go in circles, and the pages you find cannot possibly comprise the total of the book. You find an introduction to sections on abjuration and divination, as well a short treatise on some other spells. The spells you find are:(followed by how long of studying to learn)
All spell from Spell compendium unless otherwise noted.

Abjuration:
Shield (1 day)
Aiming at the Target (2 days)
Analyze Portal (1 day)
Resistance line of spells (3 days to learn regular, greater & superior)
Anticipate Teleportation (2 days for regular, additional 3 for greater)
Marked Object (1day)
Spelltheft CS (5 days)

Divination
Critical Strike (1day)
Instant Search (1 day)
Instant Locksmith (1)
Insightful Feint (1)
Chain of Eyes (3days)
Treasure Scent (2 days)
Assay Spell Resistance (4 days)
Master's Touch (1)
Spymaster's CoinCS (2 days)
Marked Object (1day)

Accelerated Movement (1)
Distract Assailant (1day)
Shock and Awe (1 day)
WhispercastLM (1 day!)
Entice Gift (2 days)

You may learn skill tricks without spending the skill points, each takes a day to learn. You must still meet the requirements.

The book also can teach you a metamagic trick. You may apply metamagic to spells without increasing the casting time a number of times per day equal to your int modifier. To learn this takes 1 day.

You have 12 days before the ceremony.

Add Perform (weapon drill) to the fighter and swashbuckler lists of class skills

You totally just fixed these two classes. I had no idea it would be so simple.

Lim will take the time to learn Critical Strike, Insightful Feint, Assay Spell Resistance, the skill trick Group Fake-out and the metamagic trick.  Add to the above-mentioned shopping some of the exotic dried fruits that Zeb loves, and after a little R&R Lim will be ready to go!

You still have 4 or so more days to learn some stuff. I would highly suggest learning whispercast, and maybe Spymaster's Coin, Instant Search, or Distract Assailant.

No, no!  Lim needs some time to rest and collect himself before his arduous journey.  Most of those spells don't seem to be the way he likes to use magic, plus he doesn't have the patience for endless book-learning!  He's a busy man!

Haha, alright, though I have no idea what you mean by "not how Lim like to use magic", especially Whispercast and Distract Assailant. Slacking ain't gonna get you nowhere in this brutal environment. (mwuahahaha)
