Four characters was my minimum criteria, the time limit wasn't met. We'll see how I feel in the morning, i'm pretty busy lately so it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. If the time isn't taken to get characters in on time, why do I take the time to run something... or something like that.

Not that im trying to be an ass... i'm fine either way. There are other ways for us all to have a good time yadda yadda, don't really need to justify it further. I gave well over a days notice and the thread has been open for the better part of a week.

I see four finished characters in this thread, and two others that are mostly finished.

My ardent
Woodenbandman's psion (minus equipment)
Veekie's Druid
Head of Vecna's Wild Mage (still needs spells)
Solo's gish
James' swordsage
[spoiler]
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

Spells wouldn't take that long anyway(unless you're stocking up on extras via purchase), want some suggestions?

I'm done, but sure, thanks. If there's a chance to tweek things once Takanaki makes his picks, I'm tempted to dump a few magic items to purchase extra spells.

I think it is very funny that you chose Biophysics. I have a Ph.D in Biophysics. It doesn't let you cast fireballs.  :lmao
Lol! that's awesome! I hope not to sound like too much of an idiot pulling stuff out of my butt. Hiekl home world is more advanced than ours so ... Isn't it theoretically possible to organically synthesize something akin to nitroglycerin? Anyway, I plan to lean on nanotech for explanations as to how H.'s spells work.

So is anyone specialized in dishing out damage? So far, it looks like a lot of battlefield control, debuffing and tanking (i.e. getting beat up well), but no glass cannons or blasters. Am I wrong? My character can dish out one attack that does 4d6+5 per round, which is ok but not great.
I don't think anyone is specialized in dealing damage, but everyone can dish out some. Woodenbandman's psion and James' swordsage may be more focused on battlefield control. But the former can do low-medium damage with an Astral Construct (pounce plus add'l attack for 2d10+14?) while Ego Whipping another opponent into unconsciousness. While the latter has an array of offensive maneuvers. Even my character, who is about as non-glass cannon as a full caster wizard is likely to get, has Manyjaws memorized for when the buff/debuff routine isn't cutting it.

Well, if its still available, I've been wanting to play a Swift Hunter or something akin for a while, and it seems like you guys need a glass cannon, so that'd be fun.  I'll check back in periodically to see.  Taka, I'm on AIM if you wanna send me a msg on there.  S/N is abh0ration, thats a zero for the first 'O'.  Let me know, your world sounds very... intriguing.

Hrm...  I was hoping someone would play a Binder as a damage dealer.  Well, we've got 4 characters; if we need to tweak the party composition before the game starts (if the game starts, I guess), then I'm willing to rebuild as necessary (Dungeoncrasher Trapkilling Barbarian Fighter of DOOOOOOMMMM!!!!).

I've Emerald Razor, which should make for a pretty solid Power Attack 1/encounter combined with Predator form, and then theres the spells, I'll have to find by experience how much healing the party actually needs that the Belt of Healing can't cover. And theres Sudden Stalagmite, Explosive stone anal probe. :D

Worst comes to worst, Cloudburst + Call Lightning(cloudburst makes a brief storm after all) + Aerial Form, skytillery.

Quoted characters are approved for play. Hopefully Phrae's Ardent will somehow survive if his robot master got killed en route.

That's how things stand at the moment and i'm happy to run for the quoted five.

One space is still potentially available for an interesting character.

One who believes humans are horrible vs one who seeks bring out the best in humanity.

Bah, perspective, the worst for one is the best to another. The latter will just confirm the former's beliefs.

Anyone in the campaign recently finished doing a simple escort the caravan mission, which would have seen you escorting a caravan of merchants from the Swayvil border to the capital city.

This does a couple of things:
Takes the load off of me as a DM to introduce you in some contrived way once we start the campaign.
Gives you all a reason to know each other, at least by name.
Puts you all in the same place when the campaign begins.

Your adventures will be more or less self-directed from that point onwards. So start to think about inter-character relations and prepare for dice rolling!

Some house rules will be implimented into the game but i'll be mentioning those right before the start. For now though, I need anyone that is in the campaign to roll me a D100 and i'll respond by PMing you a specific trait for your character. Whether you share it with your fellow adventurers or not is up to you. I don't mind you posting it here after i've PMd you.

Sooo, D100 and link it here.

P.s: Houserules after all, subject to change, terms and conditions may apply:
+ Crit/Sneak immunity does not work against a natural 20, except in conditions of extreme anatomy, ie: Ooze.
+ You can roll dice at any time during the campaign for skill checks you think might help you, but otherwise i'll be rolling Listen/Spot/Search+1d10 instead of the usual d20 to represent a character non-combat level of awareness.
+ Bosses may have ability damage resistance to prevent ego-whip/schism stupidity and similar tactics, but it will work fine on normal monsters. Put this down to force of personality or something.
+ D100 mishap dice involving planar shenanigans and so on...
+ Achievements available for various sensible and ridiculous accomplishments.

That's all for now.
