Bones removes his black vest, then the white shirt worn under it.

He kneels next to the black bloated thing that head once been a man, takes his shirt, and covers the man's head and face in respect. He mutters something like a prayer.

"This was Rhoando, the village's chief and my friend." Bones says in mortuary tones. He put his vest back on, though sans shirt.

"What took us so long is that the blasted Nazis found the 'Halcon'. They tore up the engine pretty good, but to make matters worse, while I was attempting to fix that problem Pingo found a bigger one. One that I can't fix."

"So which one of you boys can dismantle a bomb without blowing us all to smithereens?"

"I have some experience with explosives." Kestrel replies as he snaps back to attention after hearing the word 'bomb'.

"I can at least take a look.

Before we head of though we should check up with Doc Loder to see what he has found out."

Russo didn't get up but he leans his head around the door from from his chair,

"More trouble with Nazi? they just don't give up do they?" he looks up a bit

"Sorry about the chief Bones, what the hell happened here his son came after me with a god-awful glint in his eye, he was strong, stronger than anybody should be, something has happened here Bones, this place is wrong, and not just because the Nazi traipsed through here" he holds the cool drink to his face hoping to sooth his wounds a little.

"Muta came at you?!" Bones said incredulously. His eyes widened. "Well what happened? Did he get shot? Is he alright?"

Pingo stands at the doorway. Dark eyes looking hard into the village. Like a hawk seeking prey. And he resembled a hawk too with that nose of his. In his right hand he wielded a short spear. It's haft carved intricately by hand with strange symbols. Likely carved by the man himself. In his left, held low at his hip, was his machete.

Richard stood on the other side of the wide wide empty door frame. His buffalo rifle held low at his side. Still he watched too.

Rain no longer pelted the roof with its incessant drone. But now, even as the sun reemerges the heat and humidity mixed with the smell of death, and of stinking mud to create a miasma that clung to everything.

"Are you all alright? Russo you look you took a dive into an empty swimming pool. MUTA did that?"

"The kid opened up my machine gun on him from a few feet away, hit him as well, I got a shot in with the pistol and Richard took a chunk out of the guy with that cannon of his. Still he got up like it was nothing and Ran off that way" Russo waves his hand in a vague direction

"If it hadn't been for that kid, he would have killed me" He takes another, much longer draft from the bottle.

Bones shook his head in disbelief, but he said nothing to contradict Russo's story. "Did you find any other survivors?" The way he phrased it made it sound as if he expected the worse possible response.

"Do you have any idea what could've happened to that kid, Bones?" John asks while checking his SMG. He might need it pretty soon after all.

Loder comes running up gasping for breath, a manic grin permanently etched on his face.  "You're *gasp* NOT gonna believe what I just found, fellas!  Albert Dunning was buried in this very village!  Come on!"

He starts heading back towards the old church, not waiting to see if the others are following.

"So, are we going to take care of this first, or do we split up so Max here and myself can take a look at that bomb Bones was talkin' about?" John asks as he gets up.

"Pingo can take you to where we stashed the 'Halcon'." Bones said to Max and John. "I want to see what happened. Perhaps I can talk some sense into Muta. He's probably just really freaked out after having dealt with Nazis..." He trails off.

Pingo steps up to John and Max at the mention of his name. Bones looks back at the bloated form of his former friend in the back. "We can't leave him there like that. I'm going to have to bury him sooner or later. After we see what all this hubbub is about with Dunning's grave."

Pingo heads out the door. (And leaves this thread)

Bones looks at the rest who stayed. "Alright. These mules don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. I doubt that Muta would hurt a mule anyway..." he says. "If anyone wants to stay put, be my guest, but be CAREFUL. Kid, you're coming with me to the church and its graveyard." The Kid nods.

"Alright. Let's do this... and keep your eyes peeled. We don't need any more surprises..."

Bones and the Kid head out the door into the mud. They head south towards the large stone constructed church.

Not good with explosives, and not wanting to further frighten the already twitchy villagers, Eisen decides that the best course is to stay with the trusted; he follows nearly next to Bones, figuring at the very least to provide backup.

"while the idea of further distorting my beautiful face does appeal to my masochistic side, I would rather not loose any more teeth, but at the same time are we sure we want to leave the mules alone? my guns alone weigh nearly a ton and I don't fancy carrying all of John's used underwear, bones might say that crazy bastard wouldn't attack mules but he didn't see the guy"
Russo looks away and shudders a little

"He was cold Richard, that wasn't a man anymore, an I wouldn't be able to say what that thing wouldn't do, he spoke to me. asked me what I was doing here, called me an animal, in Italian would somebody out here know how to speak italian? I don't think he's who Bones thinks he is, not anymore by any rate. I say somebody has to stay and guard the mules. I just don't want it to be me" he says getting up stiffly grunting with pain and hobbling off in the direction of Loader and the others
perhaps Russo is reading a bit too much into his last encounter
Behind the heavy church, Loder led the way following a narrow, but short trail that opened up upon the village's humble cemetery. Headstones were a mix of materials. Some were carved wood. Some carved stones. None of them resembled any tombstone that any of your were used to seeing.

Generations of villagers had been buried in this jungle clearing over the years. Evident by the sheer number of markers. Perhaps a hundred. possibly more.

The group arrived at the grave. It was simple, or had been rather, before the Nazis had it dug up. The skeletal remains of its former occupant lay in a heap next to the earth, still clothed in rotted remains of the garments it had been interred in.
