Richard examines them, his interest piqued. "How much?"

Russo moves over and gingerly picks the other dagger up, feeling curious. His exasperation gone replaced with intense interest, he turns the thing over several times taking in as much detail as possible, and finds out just how sharp the thing is first hand.

((knowledge history: 28 booyah!))

Blood wells from his finger as he turns the thing over a little too hastily, a curious expression on his face

"how old did you say these were doc?"

Reggie takes the ancient blade back from Russo's hand and sets it back on the leather wrap.

"The site that these were discovered at dates back to the Post Classic Period of the Mayans, which means that these are at least 500 years old." Noting Russo's nicked fingertip, he hands him a handkerchief. "Try not to bleed to death in my shop..." He says with a wry smile, "Well-crafted obsidian blades have a cutting edge many times sharper than high-quality steel surgical scalpels. As ancient as these are, they are as sharp as the day they were made."

Then back to Richard. "This very set of ceremonial daggers have seen more than just a drop of blood, mind you. These are the real deal. Countless men and women perished under these very blades. Bones had gotten his hands on these over a year ago, and he sold them to me when he needed spare coin I suppose."

After a few moments of silence Reggie adds, "I've got some interesting maps you may like buy if these daggers are not to your liking."

Max
Max, you and Bones hear the approach of the mules. Bones gets up and heads to the door.

Bones peers out of the front door, squinting ainto the sunlight. "You might as well tie-up and come on in. Set your men to look after your animals." He says "Your pals ain't here yet. It's just Max, me, and Padre. If you need to fill up your water bags give them to Padre and he'll take care of them for us. We might as well be comfortable while we wait."

Bones returns back into the gloom.

"The boys are back. Well, 'cept for the two running my errands." He comes down the steps and approaches the bar. "Padre, I think they'll need to fill up their canteens or whatever. Help 'em out, could ya?"

Padre nods in return.

"Brilliant. Would you like me to box them up for you?" he says accepting the currency. He pulls out a wooden box just large enough to hold them and offers it to Richard. "No charge for that. I always try to take good care of my fellow Brits. Ho ho! Now be careful with those. As sharp as they are, they're quite fragile. A fumble would most certainly shatter them. Now... is there anything else I can help you with today?" He says with a genuine smile.

Eisen, not really much of an animals man, decides to let someone who knows ropes and donkeys (OOC: though hopefully not at the same time!) deal with them, and instead grabs his own pack and rifle and heads inside. Once in, he goes to a table, into which he places aforementioned gun and backpack, as well as his belt. He does not, however, abandon his holstered handgun or his knuckles, which he takes out and starts to flip, juggle between his fingers, and polish with his shirt, just in a fidgety fashion. Eventually, he makes his way to the bar and in a somewhat lowered tone asks, "Might sound odd, but do you have any milk? Just straight, no spikes..."

CLEANBones shouts after the man as he disappears behind a curtain in the rear of the bar.

After a few moments, your compatriots Jon Russo and Richard Jameson return carrying a bundle and box for Harrison Avery.

he says in a voice full of shame, Then he adds in a small voice after which he bursts into tears.

The box forgotten, Bones leaps to his feet and pulls his revolver.

Eisen downs his drink, then steps over to his pack and picks up the rifle, barely needing to cock the bullet in; it was ready for times like these. Meanwhile he looks towards the back door the man had gone through... shit, shots from two sides... he makes an unexpecting and stressed attempt to listen to his environment, to see if anything from either entrances makes a noise that could be used as a target....

Yeah, meant listen, wrote spot, all the same thing, my bad...
Loder, taking cover behind the brick wall (at E-8), unholsters his shiny chromed Colt 1911.  From the way he holds it, you'd probably guess he's never actually used it outside of a shooting course.

"shit! you are pulling our collective leg right!? who caught him? who is it!?" Russo's head snaps round to the door and unfastens his leather holster before realizing the young boy was going to be right in the middle of any fire-fight that might occur but still expecting to be able to talk his way out,

"somebody grab that kid!!"

"Herr Avery! Ve know zat you are inside. Zat boy ov yours has given you up! It vill be much easier for you if you come out peacefully." A German accented voice calls from out front. "Do not make us come inside for you."

So far there is no movement towards the door, nor any obvious signs of anyone trying to enter... yet.

"Move yer ass Kid!" Harrison says. Not so much anger in his voice, he sounds too grim for that. The kid obeys, Settling in between Russo and Eisen.

"Remember that time in Havana, Max? This is going to be worse." Bones then addresses the rest of you, "Folks, I'm sorry for getting you into this, but I could sure use a hand getting out of this jam... Can anyone see how many there are?"

"Kid, are you okay?"
Bones asks the boy, who nods his head slowly.

The Back door remains closed. The front double doors remain wide open.
