I'd use profanity to prove that I'm ok with it, but I decided to be tasteful.  :p

By the way, a quick question.
I still need to decide on one feat,
which one would you guys go with?
Weapon Finesse to increase my close-combat effectiveness should the need arise,
Point Blank Shot for that little extra attack and damage if the enemy is close enough or
Armor Proficiency (Light) for a +2 increase to my Defense?

Thanks for your thoughts and tips concerning the matter :)

So, no need for that +2 Defense?

I've already decided against Weapon Finesse :)

From what I can gather from the intro section, this is likely to be an archaeological expedition, not so much a direct firefight.  I could be wrong, but if I'm not, packing around 10-20 pounds of extra armor in the middle of the Guatamalan jungle would suxx0rz.

For the Era, body armor hadn't REALLY been in mass use yet. I would say that the majority (if not all) of your opposition will find themselves without access to body armor. This isn't to say that your PC doesn't... BUT if this were my build, I'd go for Point Blank Shot. I find it to be a handy Feat.

However, if for some reason it ever comes down to it, and your PC dies over a matter of 2 Def points... Then I'm sorry. :)

Go for point blank.

And I give up on coming up with good gear, except I might get a machete that I won't even be proficient with.  Woo!

I like props.
You'll notice that soon if you haven't begun to already. I'm posting some props early, but I am holding off on their in-game correlation until Wednesday.

Hey all, first time doing Modern, so any corrections are most appreciated.

And as far as equipment goes, I armed myself and then took a leaf from Bowen (read: snagged his list of non-weapon equipment; dude has a small arsenal on top of everything...), so no flaying me! T_T

A warm welcome to you Crimsonwind!

(don't worry I only flag myself :p)

the char sheet looks good on first glance, though if you're worried about carrying weight you can enter the stuff and it's weight in the "other possessions" section and it adds it all up for you, which is cool! :D

Weight is definitely a consideration. But if you could rent or hire a mule or 5 in the first town...
;)  Make sure you have bags and stuff appropriate to carry stuff in as well.

oh, and you guys are going to need a mule or two anyway after the Expedition Gear is removed from the ship and waiting for you...

Also, Flay-- I did not see those 4 free ranks of yours in Gather Information-- Did you make the change on your sheet but forget to save or something? Just wanted you to know!

...and DOUBLE also:

My introductory posts will be made at approximately 12 midnight Central time (my home timezone)-- so what, roughly 15 hours from the time of this post?

Let me remind everyone of my minimum 1 Post/day rule. You don't need to post on weekends, but a single post, per weekday will be required at the very least. If life has come up, please try top let us all know beforehand so we aren't thinking Where the hell is....? That BASTARD!--

Flay is new to d20M. and I believe that at least one of you is new to PbP style play. I want top encourage amongst everyone a helpful and friendly attitude for when these guys falter. We all want this to be a great experience for all involved!

Looking forward to this!
