If a mafia-style game, hells yes. If It's a specific type of game other than thematically, I have no idea.

Modern day, a la Sopranos, or period, like Godfather or the Untouchables?

I believe he means the party game:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(game)

To answer a question I already see forming in confused minds:

Q. Why is this in PbP and not Playground?

A. Mafia and similar style games require the same group of players from start to finish (unless someone is removed from the game), so participation is by a set group and wouldn't go well with the "anyone can post" style of the Playground. It would also need a recruitment thread to get enough players, since you're probably going to want something like eight or more players for a game of any decent length.

I'm curious to see what variation you're using, emissary.

It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

My work
The tier system in a nutshell:
Tier 6: A cartographer.
Tier 5: An expert cartographer or a decent marksman.
Tier 4: An expert marksman.
Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Tier 1: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything and the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.
Thank you prime and skydragon

So, yeah the party game thingy.

basic rules are on the wiki, so I'll just put down the very basics and the house rules
Basics: The storyteller (aka me) chooses x number of players to be mafia. The rest are town folk. Every "night", the mafia vote on who to kill. During the "day" the townsfolk vote on who to lynch. The townsfolk win if the lynch all the mafia, the mafia win if they kill all the townsfolk.
Special Roles:
Mafia: See above
Detective: Every night the detective chooses a person to investigate, they are then informed of the persons role.
Doctor: Once per night chooses a person to protect. That person cannot be killed by the mafia. The doctor is allowed to protect himself.

Additional Roles (if we have enough players):
Serial Killer: Once per night chooses someone to kill. Win if last one standing
Plant: Townsfolk who tries to prevent them from voting out mafia
Rat: Mafia who tries to get townsfolk to vote out mafia.
