What about someone who simply loathes the gods rather than denies their existence? Or what about someone devoted to quelling the belief in the gods, or the power of the gods in the mortal world, again rather than personally not believing in the gods?

That would work.  Actively not worshiping/believing are pretty much the same thing.  In a world where gods are a known fact and make their presence known at many times, it's not "believe" so much as it is "worship" that this contest would focus on.  In a setting where gods are belief based rather than worship based, then belief would be more fitting.

I'd have one but recent events are fucking with my muse and my time I can spend on stuf.

How about a PrC for Paladins who have lost their faith?

I had almost forgotten about this.

I really like class design, and I want to get in on this, but similar to bhu, my muse just abandoned me for this topic. I can't seem to come up with something for this topic.  I definitely want to get in the next one, though

On the subject of voting (from the actual contest thread), all in favor of extending the deadline?

My vote'd be yes.

If there's interest for entering the contest, I'd support it, but I'd rather see the next one and get in on that.

I'll hold a 5 day vote for a 5 day continuation.  If the 'yes' exceed 'no', then you will have 5 days to submit a new one or fix yours wooden.  The next contest WILL start on time (or, if my schedule allows for this, otherwise as close to that date as possible), and if there is an extension, then voting will happen during the next contest.

So did I read this correctly? ANY two opposing forces? Is it really that open?

Umm, yeah?  I didn't think it was THAT open.  I mean, the class must focus on two forces and the use of both of them, be it harmonious or not.  I try not get too specific (light and darkness classes: we already have the SSN).

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~"

I dunno, I guess I'm just used to more structured contests...  :embarrassed

Either way, this one appeals to me, and as soon as I can settle on which two clashing forces I want to work with, I'll have my rough draft up. :)

I might use one of the more broad opposing forces for another contest sometime, but this one will remain diverse.  This also allows the use of all dual forces, I guess.  A PrC based on ALL pairings.

I'm working on my draft right now.  Chaos vs Law. :D  Should be fun...

Question though: Do we need to have example NPCs, or just the class itself done?

Hmm, I should probably have an FAQ or something.

No, you don't NEED an example NPC, but do note that the winner is determined by votes of your peers, and having a better layout (potentially an example NPC even) can improve the favor of your creation.

I have barely had time to read all my watched threads these last few weeks.

Even though I don't take classes right now, just the fact that I'm managing a store catering to a college campus means my work load increases steadily the closer to the end of the school year we get.  :p

Summer's coming up soon, which should give me a lot more time.
