Why are you returning to fighter, again? Just go into another PrC, or advance one you're already in some more (like Deepwarden). They don't count towards XP penalties.

I'd probably forget about TWF, and take Rapid Shot for the ranger bonus feat.

You can Power Attack with a Spiked Chain, you know? For 2x the attack penalty even, because it's a 2-handed weapon.

It's too bad you can't use the Dungeonscape ranger variant. They drop Track for Trapfinding (like a rogue), which is useful because Deepwarden gives you it back.

Take the ranger level at level 1 for the extra skill points

My build would be ranger3/fighter2/deepwarden2/exoticweaponmaster3/assassin10

Definately take the flurry and trip stunts for EWM

When someone has a thread title like this, I want to reply:

"OK.  Your build blows chunks."

But in this case I'll just advise more dwarven defender to finish off.

4 levels of Caver lets you Dual Wield spiked chains. Make sure to take Oversized TWF feat to reduce your penalties. Caver is from Drow of the underdark.

Hey, if you're stuck being unoptimized, look cool doing it.

Let's see.... Not starting at level 1? Then start with Ranger first. More skill points. Second. Don't take more than fighter 2. There are infinite PrCs that you could take that are better than that. Take a level in warblade if you need filler. Third, I second EWM. Find It in Complete Warrior.

Feats-6
Power Attack-Duh
Imp Trip
Combat Expertise
EWP(Spiked Chain)
Weapon Focus(Spiked Chain) for entry into EWP
Your Choice (not quick draw. Iron will, Improved Disarm are good options)

Maybe favored power attack coming up. Not a bad feat especially if you know that's what you're going to be fighting.

You should go Sneak Attack fighter if you plan on dual-wielding at all, and if you're doing that, you might as well go rogue instead. Dual wielding is stupid hard to pull off without sneak attack or dragonfire inspiration or some third thing that boosts your damage from a bunch of hits. You should probably focus on either tripping/power attack, or TWF, but not both.

You could try a scout based Swift Hunter build, but you'd have to find a way to get a bunch of attacks and move at the same time. If you can get pounce, that's great.

I want to continue with this PRC Deep warden, @ least 2 levels and finish with assassin 10 returning to fighter to avoid xp penalties. Heh
Well, if you don't have more than two levels in any non-fighter base class, you can take up to three levels of another before you hit any multiclass XP penalties.

One option could be three levels of swashbuckler.  It gives more skill points than fighter, and you'll get +Int to damage with the spiked chain.  Of course, gaining Weapon Finesse at 1st level doesn't help you, so it's somewhat of a dead level.  Grace +1 at level two is iffy.  Still, you  could take the Daring Outlaw feat to add three levels to your Sneak Attack, assuming you took at least three levels of assassin first (for the +2d6 SA prerequisite).

Not awesome, but I think it's better than just finishing with fighter.

You're build's not cheezy.  Believe me, you could do far worse things with it.  What I like about it is that you have an idea for what you want to do flavor wise, and are building around that.

I suppose I can see some benifit to the repeating crossbow if you poison the bolts ahead of time, but you should be able to do the same with arrows.  A bow is superior in almost every way to the repeating crossbow, and you don't have to blow a feat to use it or a full round action to reload it after five shots.

Your build is not cheesy. Like, at all. Don't take this wrong, but you don't understand what cheesy truly is. Once you discover for yourself what cheese REALLY smells like, then you'll be able to use the word. And you'll probably be a better character builder.

Anyway, my suggestion is that for one side of the gestalt you take Swift Hunter, and on the other side you take barbarian (with the pounce ACF from Complete Champion, see if you can get it approved), fighter, assassin/whatever. You'll be able to TWF a lot, lot better. Take Improved Skirmish for +2d6/2AC on a charge attack, so basically your attacks do 7d6+weapon damage, plus you can sneak attack if you win initiative. What you are now is basically an assasin-type: you surprise your foe and hopefully kill them in a single round. Don't forget, you get death attack if you can study them from far away, then charge up and sneak attack.

Nevermind uncheesy, it's outright unoptimzied.  Shadowdancer and Assassin have no place in an optimized build.  Excet maybe a shadowpounce build for the dancer.
