OOC:
I already included that +2. Hergierr's Wisdom mod is -1.
As they walk, Hergierr introduces himself.
"I am Hergierr, a woodsman with a few magical tricks up my sleeve.
It appears our quarry has met up with a smaller creature, perhaps some kind of fey, and their tracks are mingled along the road now.
If you don't mind, I'd like a few minutes alone to meditate on this, and to summon some magical aid to help figure out what's going on. I'll be right back."Without waiting for an answer, Hergierr heads off into the undergrowth by himself. When he feels that he is far enough to have privacy, he gets out his bow and strings it to wait and see if any of the others come to spy on him.

If he feels he is not being spied upon, he begins to summon Malphas. He spends a minute drawing a 5 foot diameter circle on the ground, and inscribes Malphas' sign in the middle of it. He then says
"Malphas, betrayed and betrayer, hear my call. Lend me your skills, and in return I'll lend you a presence in the world again."A moment later, a loud flurry of wings is heard, and a cluster of doves appears and then explodes outwards from above the sign. From where they were stands an elf with pale skin, black eyes, and black feathers for hair. His voice croaks and his black tongue flickers in and out of his mouth as he speaks.
They bargain for another minute, and then the image of Malphas finally says:
"I answer your call. Let my eyes once again look upon the world." Then his image flashes, and flies into Hergierr, merging with him. Hergierr's teeth and tongue turn black, as he binds the vestige into himself.
Binding check (vs DC 15)
1d20+3=4Hergierr feels his own personality twisted by that of the vestige inside of him, as he fails to resist its influence. He shakes his head, and says
"No matter." Then with a gesture he summons a raven out of thin air and it perches on his shoulder. He takes a moment to obscure the Sign, and turns and heads back to the party. (Take 10 on Survival to obscure it).
He turns his head back to the tracks as he speaks, making sure to keep his mouth out of view
"Let us continue. I will send this small spy ahead to look for our quarry. Once we find them, we will not need to travel so slowly to following their tracks."The raven flies off down the trail, just above the tops of the trees.
He can see and hear through the raven, so he uses it to scout ahead, and look for the man they follow.
His personality is changed as so:
You fall in love too easily. A kind word or friendly gesture can cause you to devote yourself entirely to another person. Should that person reject your affection, your broken heart mends the moment another attractive person shows you some kindness. In addition, if you have access to poison, Malphas requires that you employ it against your foes at every opportunity.
