Ask the Gameologists, Take 2
« on: February 16, 2009, 06:27:40 AM »
We had a thread on this that got somewhat derailed so I wanted to try again:

What are some questions you would like the gameologists to answer?  They can be about podcasting, gaming, conventions or anything.

Here are some samples from the previous thread:

1) what inspired you to start the podcast?

2) what is the big deal, thus Josh's obsession, with Burning Wheel, Savage Worlds and Spirit of the Century?

3) Do the brilliant gameologists think that 3.5 D&D or 4e D&D is more recommendable?

4) How do you go about meeting a new gaming group?  It seems like the groups that have the most fun have known each other for a while, but what happens when you move?

And here are questions from the new thread

5) What do you get out of podcasting and the site?

6) How old are you and does that change your gaming?

How old are you and does that change your gaming? Serious question, as I grow older I started moving away from D&D. Life happened, and Sunday night gaming needed to be more satisfying than highschool stuff.

Growing up in Central Maine, we did not get a lot of exposure to mass market trash culture. Hence, we are fascinated by it as adults.

I have more to say on the topic, it's still good.

My question was for the show. You are a self admitted jerk (either that or I read something incorrectly) and I want to know why

My question actually kinda addresses this. I didn't know that Josh had this reputation until I went to the boards. And the "intervention" episode was largely spawned, IMO, out of use of the boards.

Delete the boards! You'll be happier.

I'm curious what you guys (the gameologists) do for a living.  How are you guys able to fund the website and equipment for the podcast, in addition to your travels around to the various conventions?  Forgive me if thats too personal a question, like I said I'm just curious.  Do you all have careers that are able to support it, or maybe BG funds itself somehow?
