Oh, they wouldn't even notice. I'm just saying that Naberious ability is crazy powerful, reaching into all sorts of aspects of the game the designer probably never even realized. But that's why we're optimizers - we see the things the "professionals" don't.

Mostly I see it abused with Hellfire warlocks, but it certainly does have other interesting uses.

I'm not sure I'd call that ability "crazy powerful" by itself, though. It is very good in conjunction with certain specific things, though.

In answer to your question in the game thread, Phaedrus, the lodges are brotherhoods of fighting styles. Some of the larger ones may have lodge houses in many villages throughout Rashemen (the Great Stag and Wolf lodges are very common). Some smaller lodges may only have one or two lodge houses in all of Rashemen. Each lodge house in a given village typically has 20 to 50 members, though they can get as large as 100. The Wolf and Great Stag lodges probably have over a 1,000 members each - in truth I haven't given those numbers a whole lot of thought yet.

Now, that said, there are nowhere near all the berserkers of Rashemen present at the Althing. Many have duties that have kept them in their villages, or elsewhere.

Hathran do get married and have kids, so that sort of thing does happen

There will be several drinking contests later in the afternoon/evening - the Great Stag lodge will probably start some time in the late afternoon. Most of the others will be after dinner.

Well, I said everyone started with 75% their max starting gold (based on classes). Yeah, Archivist and Beguiler don't actually have starting gold listings, but it's easy to compare them to other classes. Archivist is similar to a cleric - a cleric's max gold at first level is 200 gp.

I couldn't tell how much you've spent as of yet.

If you've only got enough for a 0 level spell, you could try to get a Druid 0 level spell or something. Alternatively, you could hire someone to cast a spell for you to make into a scroll - that would be cheaper at the moment. Then, later, you could transfer it to your prayerbook. I'll let you go into debt 1 xp to make it.

Actually, due to your magic item creation assignment, you started with 162 gp, 5 sp.

The Hathran have assigned you to make a scroll of Expeditious Retreat, and bring it to next year's Althing. (It'll cost you 1 day, 12 gp, 5 sp, and 1 XP).

Who else here is a male arcane caster.... Shadowhunter..... but he doesn't have an item creation feat yet...so he doesn't have an assignment... this year.

He could work with someone else. Maybe that's how he meets one of the other party members.

This is the chance for the Archivists to see if they can get Lesser Restoration from a paladin, assuming the percentile dice for that sort of thing roll high enough and they rp it well enough. I hate ability damage at low levels, so throw the wolf berserker a bone here.

That wouldn't be him crafting the item; that would be "someone else" crafting the item.

Of course you can run it however you want in your game, but per the RAW that is not correct.

Ah, I'd misremembered that.

Probably because it most often comes up in reference to Archivists, and since they're the one getting the benefit from the scroll creation, they're going to be the one footing the XP bill.

But you're right. Shadowhunter can be the crafter, then. He won't be required to be by Rashemi society until he himself gets a crafting feat, however.

Interesting.... Hathran are prohibited from having crafting feats, as they are socially prohibited from crafting items, but the rules actually allow them to be the crafters of items without having any crafting feats.....

I might well have to change that, just because it's so stupid.
