I'm fine with both, really. Seeing as Jolt was going ranged I was thinking about doing the melee thing, but if you want to do that that's fine with me.
It would be nice to play something a little more sophisticated and smooth than a Wookiee. I mean, I love 'em, but I really don't think they'll fit with my rp-style...

Jolt, is it okay with you if we share ranged combat duties? I might do something like a renegade Jedi of sorts instead, but I'd have to come up with a build first, probably sometime tomorrow...

Speaking of which, anyone have any experience with melee Jedis in SAGA edition? The Wookiee 'berserker' was easy, but between force powers, talents, classes, PrCs and combat feats and what not any help or ideas would be appreciated :)

The more blasters, the better!  My character is just a pistol-using gunslinger.  If you went with a blaster rifle, you'd be able to do things like autofire, etc... which is REALLY useful in Saga.  Then again, you could keep with the Wookiee theme and focus on using a Bowcaster.  If you did that, I may switch my character to a carbine (used pistol style).

Duelist and Lightsaber talent trees.  You could more or less ignore force talents, and the Jedi Knight PrC focuses A LOT on saber use.

Thanks. And yeah, I'll try to come up with a Lightsaber build, but if that won't work out I'll go with the autofire thing. I think this guy should work for a rifle user of sorts: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/view.php?id=108904

If you have any tips, let me know :)

So I've decided to ditch the wookiee and gunslinger idea...
My remaining options are:
-Heavy Blaster wielder, including autofire options and what not.
-Dual Lightsaber wielder.
-Lightsaber/Blaster wielder.

The last one seems the most versatile, although aside from Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot he won't really have anything in terms of ranged attack feats, talents or options, so the dual lightsaber guy could fill the same role, but with a bit more focus on the lightsaber thing...

Also trying to decide wether it's worth sacrificing Jedi levels for Scout levels to get both Evasion and Uncanny Dodge I. That would delay my entry into Jedi Knight by one level and cost me 2 feats (selected from either Whirlwind Attack, Quick Draw or Power Attack). You guys think it's worth it for a dual lightsaber wielder?

Are there any Lightsaber upgrades?
There isn't really anything useful for them in the Scum and Villainy upgrade section. Anything else?

Ok, since Bowen is going melee I'll do a little more searching to figure out what I'm going to be.  You make things so hard for me.  :P

http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/view.php?id=109607

my base good skills are 17. can be 22 in a pinch.. before rolling.. i plan on taking 10 or 20 alot... a whole lot..

i took starship designer.. going to need funding... the rules for all that are based in 100k credit increments..

i can buff just about anything once.. might have to go into the custom weapon modding business..

Am I correct in thinking that we need a sneaky guy?

altpersona's character has stealth, but skill overlap is not so bad in this system as it is with D&D

Alright, I'm going Scoundrel 1/ Scout 3/ Independent Droid 1, and going for the Infiltrator PrC from Force Unleashed.  Main focus is being sneaky/ scouty.  That sound good?

Yes!  That pretty much rounds us out!  BTW, what type of droid are you?

Generic Second degree droid.  I should have my character done by Sunday, it makes me feel better that Bowen is still working on his, heh.

Generic Second degree droid.

Got two existing droid types that you might like as a base model for your droid character:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/I-10_Probe_Droid (looks like a B1 Battle Droid, but designed more for scouting)
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/T3-series_utility_droid (from KotOR)
