Kingsberg

Has anyone played it?  My group has been trying it out for a few weeks, and there seems to be only one really good strategy for winning.  Or perhaps it's just because we havent played it much.

Same here.  We played for the first time on Monday and I won- so game gets a good mark in my book ;)  But I went for... the last row strategy where you get a point each round and another by spending a 2 or a resource and then went for the first row that gives lots of points and pretty much creamed the rest of the group.

I like it but it seems to need some tweaking.

Thats what our group does.  Everyone seems to go for the last row strategy cept me.  The guys initiated a house rule stating that if you get to peek at the enemy card you can instead

A) Pay 2 gold to give one specific opponent a -2 in the fight

B) Pay 1 resource of any kind to give everyone a -1, and set the fight out yourself.

But if someone else gets to peek before the fight they can instead inform the king, and you don't get the benefit of the kings forces (i.e. the random die roll that adds to your combat bonus).

I'm not sure it's changed much

I enjoy it.  Not sure if anyone else mentioned it (as I am too lazy to check) but there is a great computer version on boardgamegeek that you could give a whirl to see what you think.
