So I'm thinking something along these lines: Warlock 9/Hellfire Warlock 1 for starters (perhaps a Mindbender dip for Mindsight thrown in for good measure), going for Hellfire Warlock +2/Legacy Champion 8. Would end up with Hellfire Blast +18d6, total EB damage 26d6, and two Dark invocations. Sound good?

EDIT: I just had two new thoughts: A Thrallherd to the tune of Ich Will, and a Cancer Mage to the tune of Bacteria.

No Binder for Ability Healing?

Doesn't Bind Vestige solve that neatly? Just a feat rather than a whole level. Or Shape Soulmeld (Whatever that thing is that reduces Con damage).

Only get's you Naberius' Silver Tongue, the only way to get the ability healing is to actually take a level of Binder.

Also, I believe the consensus was Strongheart Vest soulmeld won't work this (or at least, there were a crapton of solid arguments against it...)

Look on the bright side, you get a better Fort save and some useful extra abilities including more social skill goodness with a Binder dip :)

True... On the other hand, is it really good to have a homicidal six-year old as the party face? I guess if you keep her pyromany in check, the cuteness could work out...  :plot

And that's why we have a fire-proof airship :P

We do? Aww man, that's no fun. :P

Hmm... the binder dip would mean that I couldn't go perma-invisible, flying, and Mindbending at once, though. :D (Since I'd get one less Invocation, so I can't get all three of Walk Unseen, Fell Flight, and Charm - at least not at chara creation.)

EDIT: Wait... wasn't there an item in Expedition to Castle Ravenloft that gives an extra invocation? I'll have to check on that...
EDIT 2: Darn, it costs 20k and is only for least invocations.

How about that feat from one of the Eberron books, lemme think...
Touch of Captivation (don't remember which book, but it's on Crystalkeep as well).

Should help you qualify for Mindbender with one less Invocation :D

Doesn't it say which book it is on ck?

EDIT: Found it in Player's Guide to Eberron. That would work. A pity that it's only 1/day, but I guess I could retrain it when I hit next level and take the acual invocation. >_>

Aw crap, I just noticed that Brimstone Blast and Hellrime Blast are both Lesser invocations, and I need one of them to enter Hellfire Warlock. So looks like I need to give up one of perma-invisibility, perma-flight (kinda handy on an airship), or Charm Monster at will. (Already accounting for the fact that I get another invocation when I level. I guess I could take Extra Invocation at 12...)

Are you a ranged 'lock?
I'd pick flight over invisibility for now.

Pick up Touch of Captivation for now to qualify for Mindbender...

Also, don't forget the Empower, Maximize and Quicken SLA feats ;)

Gotcha. Touch attack vs. Flat-footed AC does sound nice, though...

Did I mention how much I hate skill prereqs on a character with 2+Int skill points at every level? >_< Since I've got UMD on my skill list and get skill mastery in it, I naturally want to max UMD. As the designated face, I also want Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate (Naberius also conveniently gives Skill Mastery with two of those). But Hellfire Warlock wants 6 ranks in Spellcraft and 12 in K (The Planes), and Mindbender wants 4 more ranks in Sense Motive. Taking Binder and Able Learner at 1st helps that a little, but I'm still starved for skill points.

EDIT: I see a little problem with SLA Metamagic feats, though... look at the table for Empower. My Warlock Level is 7, so my EB is an equivalent level of 4... which means I need CL 12 or more before I can take Empower SLA.

I was just checking existing character sheets... What's this bonding ritual thing? Never heard of that before, I'm ashamed to admit.

Never seen anyone beside me use it either, guess it's kinda obscure.
It's in DMG2 :)

Interesting. Thanks.

I was kinda under the assumption that this is an Eberron campaign due to the fact we're flying around in an airship, but since Bow said to check with him first before using campaign-specific material... Is Touch of Captivation, from Player's Guide to Eberron, okay?
Oh, and what about Heartstones (That is, bought for 1,800 gp and UMD'ed)? >_>
While I'm at it, are we using fractional BAB/saves?

Let me see...

Touch of Captivation: That's fine, and so is anything from the ECS (all Eberron books), for future reference. Perhaps I should have said cross-campaign material.

Heartstones: I'm tempted to draw the line here, but only because of the really, really cheap price. If you can convince me otherwise, though, I'm all ears.

Fractional BaB/Saves: No.
