Races, Classes and the songs that represent them best
« on: January 22, 2009, 12:13:33 PM »
Okay, a little idea I had after reading a thread about characters inspired by a theme song here. I believe it's been done over on the WotC-boards as well a while ago, but I couldn't find that thread anymore, I guess it got pruned...

The idea is pretty simple, just post songs that you think fit with certain characters as there theme song or anthem, either because of the title or the actual lyrics :)

I'll start:

Barbarian: Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff

Bard: Any rousing anthem to get people going :P

Cleric: Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith

Fighter:
Iron Maiden - Wasted Years (too easy :P)

Monk: Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting (sorry, had too :D)

Paladin: Manowar - Holy War (yeah yeah, I know  :eh)
--> Mounted Paladin: Iron Maiden - The Trooper

Ranger: Iron Maiden - Journeyman

Rogue: Judas Priest - Breaking The Law

Wizard:
--> Conjurer focusing on summoning evil outsiders: Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast

--> Enchanter: Metallica - Master Of Puppets

--> Diviner: Iron Maiden - The Clairvoyant or Judas Priest - Nostradamus or Judas Priest -Prophecy :D

--> Evoker: Rammstein - Feuer Frei

--> Female Necromancer: Santana - Black Magic Woman

Beguiler: Metallica - Master Of Puppets

Dragonfire Adept: Dragonforce - Heart Of A Dragon (yes, you may hate me  :rollseyes)

Marshal: Same as a Bard really, maybe some Manowar or Hammerfall  :lol

Shadowcaster: The Rasmus - In The Shadows

Swashbuckler: Iron Maiden - The Duellists

Truenamer: Chris Cornell - You Know My Name

Warmage: The Prodigy - Firestarter

Artificer:
--> Meleeficer/Self-Bufficer: Black Sabbath - Iron Man (not really appropriate in terms of lyrics, but whatever  :eh)

Assassin: Iron Maiden - Assassin

Blackguard: AC/DC - Back In Black or The Imperial March ofcourse  :D

Warforged (especially when opposing fleshies): Black Sabbath - Iron Man

-->Warforged Diviner: Judas Priest - The Hellion/Electric Eye :D

I'm sure I'll come up with more stuff later :)

Now it's up to you guys to come up with more fun ideas ;)
Don't restrict yourself to single-class characters, add in races if you feel like it , give a short concept of a character that fits with a certain song, just go nuts :D

Swashbuckler: Maybe "What is Love" or any song that helps buckling of swashes.

Warforged melee: "Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto."
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

most of my character have some kind of theme song some of the better ones:
1/2 ogre gladiator style character: Marilyn Manson - beautiful people
Paladin : don't know the singer - God's got an army.
Tiefling Warlock: AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Wizard who blew up his academy "accidentally" : Alice Cooper - School's Out
Nezumi (Rokugan) barbarian : Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet with butterfly wings (most people call it rat in a cage)
enchanter: either Manson or CCR - i put a spell on you
group returning to home town: Everclear - the boys are back in town
a forsaker style character: Godsmack - bad religion

This one requires some explaining. My group had requested i play a character of mine that i had played a few times before, and people liked him for some reason. He was LN and frantically devoted to Wee Jas, character actually fell in love with his goddess.  To get him to this new setting the DM decided to kill Wee Jas, with him there, and her last bit of power sent him to the new world that the god that killed her returned to. So he was on a mission to kill a god from low levels. His song for that game was Johnny Cash - I won't back down

some general ones for adventurers:
Bon Jovi - Its my Life 2000
Warpigs - Black Sabbath
Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Disturbed - Down with the sickness
Clerics and Druids are like the 4 and 2 in 42. Together they are the answer to the ultimate question in D&D.
Retire the character before the DM smacks you with the Table as the book will feel totally inadequate now.-Hazren

Pyrokineticist - Burn Your Playhouse Down by the Proclaimers

By the by, can't find chords to that song, and can't seem to identify them. I might be having a dub moment, but if anyone knows 'em, that'd be useful...
