So a kalashtar soulknife/soulbow might get some love? It looks like we'll have a dearth of casters though...perhaps warlock/chameleon/hellfire warlock...sorta a casty archer...popping the floating feat for all sorts of stuff I could use.

I was thinking of granting bonus feats and stuff for certain classes, so as to make everyone happy and clear up the feat hunger.

Like, a rogue can select an ambush feat that he has prereq's for whenever he gains sneak attack boost, a fighter getting the weapon focus feat tree for free for his chosen weapon (need to think over how exactly to distribute them) , a barbarian gets bonus feats that synergise with his rage (instantanous rage, extra rage you know ...), an artificier gains more creation feats for free and/or bonus proficiencies in some homebrew weapons (like the cold iron wrench staff, adamantite hammer (maybe a warhammer/greathammer if he has craft construct and high STR) , silver screw driver (a dagger  :D ) ), a dread necro getting feats that synergises with his skills (like getting extra turning, ... other feats that I need to search), a wizard / sorcerer gains minor metamagic feats that otherwise wouldnt be taken (like escrew materials - yeah, I know it isnt listed as a metamagic feat, but it should be IMHO) and/or free school focus in his/hers chosen specialisation (oh, and a cantrip as an at will spell depending on specialisation chosen by me + prestidigitation at will ).

I just want to have fun and experiment a bit  :P
What are you thinking for bonus PsyWar feats? Maybe some Psicrystal stuff, or maybe some Expanded Knowledges?

I guess I will bring the guy who totally ignores his stats and solves problems for the group despite having straight eights in mental abilities. Though i thought it would be funny if we had homebrew in here so that the group Min/Maxer could complain about the OBVIOUS cheese.

That reminds me, I'll be the rules lawyer. In character, anyway. I normally hate rules lawyers.

So my build looks like it's gonna turn out Goliath Barbarian1/Dungeoncrasher6, then into warhulk for between 4 and 10 levels. If Skillful weapons from Complete Arcane are allowed, then 10 war Hulk levels it shall be, but if not, then I'll be going for something else, haven't decided what would complement this, maybe some Warmind. In fact, if Skillful weapons are disallowed, I'll be going War Mind anyway (though this would necissate a high wisdom score). Weapon will be a Lucerne Hammer, which is a 2d4 bludgeoning or piercing reach weapon from Arms and Equipment guide (crit 20/x4).

Items will probably just be anything at all that increases size and to-hit. expect Belt of Augmented Expansion, items of Heroism, and stuff like that. Absolutely nothing that increses mental stats, though.

EDIT: I'm assuming it's a 32 point buy?

By the way, we should all chip in for an Admiral's Bicorne for the party face. It'll grant them bonuses on charisma based things, and it gives us all the benefit of a Heroism spell if we're within 100 feet. It's 50k, though, but we could reduce the price if we used a tricorne instead of a bicorne, it's cheaper by like 350 gp :P

EDIT2: Oh crap I just read the part about a non-LA. Could I then take this and qualify if I were enlarged via Psychic Warrior expansion or something? Or could I take the Goliath monster class, as detailed in the BG Arena thread?

This sounds like tons of fun. How many have joined? Room for another? I'll probably play a gnomish cloistered cleric going into SCM through early entry cheese, and you all can make fun of me for being a power gamer. :D

If that's too over the top, I have other ideas...

I guess this is what I get for starting this game in an optimisation forum  :lmao
How about if I roleplay as if I (the player) don't know how to use the character, because I just stole it from someone else's build? Like the guy who plays a wiz/incantatrix/archmage, and casts Magic Missile all the time? :D

I'll just be inept unless someone else tells me what to do (Dude, you do know you can use your Shadow Illusion power to create a Wall of Force between us and the monsters, right?) And I'll try to do things completely wrongly/illegaly, and mix up rules from 3rd and 2nd editions. (Those trolls should take illusionary damage for failing the save vs. my Silent Illusion of a Wall of Fire. (before getting into SCM)).

[spoiler]
A couple of water benders, a dike, a flaming arrow, and a few barrels of blasting jelly?

Sounds like the makings of a gay porn film.
...thanks

looks like we have a few other people playing or thinking of playing warforged shapers, I think I'll take the roll of tank. I'll do some kind of lock down holds "threat" type of build some one need to be the tank.

I'd like to make a factotum, focusing on use magic device and item crafting. Would I be able to take the Item Familiar feat from Unearthed Arcana? I know some DMs don't like it.

Huh, how many people are in? I'd like to play a Hellfire Warlock who dabbles in some necromancy called Dick. Otherwise I can go for a two scimitar wielding drow ranger called Drizzle  :lmao just cause we need one of those players.

I think my character will be the guy who only ever chimes in during combat, and then needs someone else to remind him that it's his turn and who the enemies are...
I might go so far as to have my character say something like, "Alright, but after I attack I'm going back and beating the Black Omen." Or, "I was so close to Star Rank on 150cc Special Cup! Why'd you distract me!?!"

oh my christ like 40 people signed up.

If my idea's accepted then I'd be a tank-y guy. Hopefully starting with powerful build and building toward huge.

If I can't be a goliath, would you accept Jotunbrud as powerful build?

EDIT: By which I meant as qualifying me for War Hulk? I basically need War Hulk for this build to work.

OK, so human or warforged lockdown maybe something like the molester builds...hmm. also, I think I would be the over active RP player knows too much about the lore, yells at GM's when retcons happen in the lore to make things fit better, and tries to get player kicked for talking about Chuck Norris in barrens...um i mean general chat. lol

So, what's the fluff? Is this going to be 'tabletop' or 'MMO' themed? Sounded MMO themed to me, but what do I know?

I'm picturing NPCs that hunt low-level Druids who might become Planar Shepherds and the Magic Item Regulation Task Force which goes around destroying Candles of Invocation and Dust of Sneezing and Choking.
It always seems like the barrels around here have something in them.

The R.I.I.A.C. Reasonably Intelligent Initiative Against Cheese. Offers 10 gp per kobold killed.

Wow, this could be a campaign of mastodonical proportions. Would you be doing all the DMing, bayar, our would you enlist help, or just cut people?

Yeah, we could make it like a game world, with a couple of DM's for a different party...

If you want an example for that, let me plug Strat's Arhosa Game, in which the same thing is being done.

Until actually starting, we should agree on what bonus stuff each class gains at level up. It should be something that adds to the class's flavour.

Hmm, would using the general Psychic Warrior bonus feat pool be too flexible? I noticed you specified Weapon Focus tree for Fighters, so maybe the Psionic Shot/Fist/Weapon  line(Those, the Greaters, and the Touch Attack ones. I know Psionic Fist has a Ghost touch-esque one, but I'm afb, do the others?)1 would be appropriate?
