Girallon's Blessing + Fuse arms = ?
« on: January 17, 2009, 04:33:48 PM »
So, you can give someone an extra pair of arms and then you can fuse them into the creature's original pair of arms to get +4 STR and claws...

Would it work that way ?

yes it does.  Power level wise it's ok.  It does use up two spells while having a limited duration.  On the other hand, it's an unnamed +4 bonus to STR which never hurts.

looked up fuse arms in savage species
an it really works for each set of fused arms...
soooo 50 fusioned armpairs would give +200 strength

for a total of 250 strength which equals a +120 modifier

Updated version is in Spell Compendium, and yes, it was the Hecatoncheires.

Also, nice avatar :)

OTOH, assuming they're two-handing a weapon and that they already have at least 14 STR, it's better not to fuse the arms. Per Savage Species, every additional arm you wield a weapon with allows you to add another .5 str mod to damage. So someone holding a sword in 4 hands does +2.5*str mod damage when they hit.

Only if the DM allows Savage Species...a 3.0 book.

Although, dual wielding Greatswords might work...

It's un-updated material, so it's gravy for 3.5.

The best part... as per SS, Grallion's Blessing and Fuse Arms are both permanent spell targets!

What about the updated versions (SC)?

SC never says one way or the other... and nor do the spells themselves in SS.  It simply says at the beginning of the spells section that the spells can be made permanent.
