You two are the thinkers. I just stab things that get in your way. It is worth noting that whatever the inside of the golem is made out of seems resistant to... whatever that is. So maybe we could use a part of one of the golems as a container, so you can study it more properly later.
The container is bolted and secured in the centre of the golem, so it would be quite difficult to remove without damaging the golem in some way. Otherwise, yes.
Deciding to give the goop a hand in flowing out, Ferrus wedged scrap under the golem's feet such that it was tilted to pour the thick fluid on the ground more quickly. Perhaps he could finally get a glimpse of its inner workings.

The liquid reveals an empty container, coated in the same substance that protects the outside. There are two bars, each of different metal, running from the top of the container to the bottom, and it appears to be those to which some of the wires from the outside are attached. Otherwise, there is nothing in the container.

The forge is covered by a deep metal case, but some prying and pulling removes the stone and steel mix from the cold smelter. Within a series of gears and levers, powered by more of the strange globes from the golem, sit idle. Channels for the molten steel and various moulds lie near by, each capable of being slipped onto a universal attachment. Given its modular construction, it could be adapted to a wide variety of tasks.

Either of you have any telekinetic abilities?

Or maybe if it isn't too much of a discharge, I could gird myself with Vigor, and shunt half my damage into my Fragment (Share Pain on Psicrystal), and just take it...
