Episode 34: How to Min/Max Pt. 1: Definitions and Goals
« on: January 09, 2009, 11:56:48 AM »
Our "Joys of Min/Maxing" Episode is by far our most popular (in terms of the episode with the most downloads and listens), so we've finally put together another Min/Maxing episode and it's a 2 parter on how to min/max.

Part 1 will be covering definitions and mostly about the Arbitrary Initial Decision- the first idea you have when you sit down to make a character and classifying where that idea comes from.

I'm as good as anyone at this point.  I had a drop in blood pressure that could have been caused by lots of things, most of which have now been ruled out.

Looking forward to part 2.

Of course - something to be aware when making goals would be to be talking/conspiring with the other players in the game.

One of my pet peeves is when a player comes to the table with a character that has no connection or ability to work with others.

.. oh - yes you talk about this a little bit. :) Teaches me to respond until the cast finishes....

Actually - was there a session about "game group creation". I can easily see how this can be min/max'ed. Actually, it would probably be even better as it lets each character have their own niche and shine in their own way.

Hmmm. How would you min/max (for ex) a party of 3 fighters?

Good job, I look forward to part 2 as well. The ketchup thing reminds me of a story my dad told me that I wish I could have witnessed. A well dressed guy in an expensive convertible ran over the bloated corpse of a groundhog and his face, suit, and car interior were rocked by an explosion.

Enjoyed the episode. The crunchy bits were good and the fluffy bits were awesome. :D

You know, if Zeke ever really DID get his own sitcom, I would have no choice but to watch every episode.

EVERY SINGLE EPISODE, DAMMIT!!!!!

(Sorry, I couldn't think of anything funny to write here, so I went with volume.  Volume's good, right?  Right?!)

Oh, yeah, nearly forgot: Maybe it's spelled Mrotsniarb, but it's pronounced "Stormbrain."  Eh?  Eh?!

EDIT: You know, I just read the above text again and I can't help but wonder if I'd had way too much caffeine before I wrote it...  Sorry about that...   :twitch

My point was: Zeke = Comedy Gold

Hopefully that message gets across through all my odd rambling...   :whistle

My only note at this point - without a thorough relisten - is to note that the stripper's back joke was funny when I saw it in the show notes. However, because that happened, and because you laughed so hard at the joke later, then said 'we should totally do...' it diminished the joke. I dunno, it feels like an attempt to show the baby twice and claim it's twins.

And... stormbraining?
