Electronic Gaming Monthly is dead

Ziff-Davis is shutting down all their magazines, print media is on its way out.

I'm sad but glad. EGM has been around for 18 years and and was pretty awesome in the 1990's with the magazine having over 200 pages an issue.

But in recent years the magazine went downhill. The size of the magazine dramatically decreased and it catered more and more to the ultra-'hardcore' gamer at the expense of everyone else. In short the magazine needed to be put down Old Yeller-style.

That's a shame, the subscription I paid for isn't up yet.

Actually, according to quite a few comments, some of the users have contacted EGM and asked about this, who then responded with 'huh? First we heard about it!'

Remember, that story is from a 'source', not official in any way... yet. We shall see.
