New Year's Resolutions?
« on: December 31, 2008, 02:28:26 PM »
I'm less than 12 hours away from the new year and while I don't really do formal resolutions, setting goals is not only a fun tradition of this time of year, but something that really helps motivate you.

Mine:
This is going to be a year of changes for me- some small some larger.

My goals:
-Get fit
-Get a book deal
-Do what I want to do and let loose a little more
-Start a solo-podcast in addition to helping BG to fame and fortune!
All of my updates are on twitter!

This is my angry voice.  Text written in red, by me, is  an official moderator "suggestion"

My goals:
-Get decent grades.
-Stay in decent shape (maybe add more upper body mass)
-Continue to refine my seduction technique.  Stealing six hearts this year is my goal.

I never actually make New Year's resolutions, I find them too restrictive, but I have stuff I aim to accomplish:
-Stay alive and decently healthy.
-Make most of the year enjoyable.

Meg only podcast? I is intrigued.

My personal goal for this year is to move out of my pigeon infested apartment and to do more art... not necessarily in that order.

My goal is to accomplish something my ex doesn't immediately one-up later.

I have many goals. Some reasonable... some laughable.

1. Get an RL gaming group started. A real one. Something with at least four other people besides myself. (IF I'm lucky, I won't even be the DM!)
2. Get back into shape. Since I got motorized wheels, I've gotten flabbier. Time to reverse that.
3. Get a girlfriend. 7+ years is too frickin' long.
4. Find a better paying job. One that I don't hate.
5. Go the whole year without having to put my motorcycle in the shop for repairs. It'd be nice.
6. Get a better grip on my finances.
7. Complete some of my video games. I have lots, I need to work on finishing them.
8. Finish my wardrobe revamp. I'm slowly phasing out my ancient shirts.
9. Get an apartment all my own. Before my current roommate drives me insane.

That's just the 'major' ones. I can't even count the minor ones.

This is relevant

In all seriousness, though, I tend not to make such resolutions. If I really cared, I would have done it already. I don't need no stinking new year to enact personal change.

Although, I suppose I could resolve to continue living as I do. Yeah, let's go with that one. It sounds good enough.
So you end up stuck in an endless loop, unable to act, forever.

In retrospect, much like Keanu Reeves.

Last year, my resolution was to be more sociable. I don't think I went a week of 2008 without seeing my friends once or twice. I think I did well on that one.

Myself, I have three writing projects. One is going to be finished by the end of 2009, another by the end of June 2009, the other by the end of January 2009. That's what I'm tellin' myself.
