Red Alert d20
« on: December 24, 2008, 03:53:18 PM »
Name says it all. With the somewhat new release of Red Alert 3, I am inspired to make a campaign. All I need are the rules... and players

I think for a crude application, you just need d20 modern with a mishmash of future techs for most of them. Mostly vehicle stats.
The mind transcends the body.
It's also a little cold because of that.
Please get it a blanket.

I wish I could read your mind,
I can barely read mine.

"Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. At 2:15, it begins rolling up characters."

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~"

I need stats, rules for the some of the more crazy things, and I need to decide whether or not this is a strategy game or an normal game.

Are you limiting yourself to the equipment from Red Alert 3 or will you be drawing from the previous games as well? I know that Tael Zenith had a Red Alert thread on the Wizards boards but, that was some time ago.

As to the Strategy versus Normal RPG argument, my personal taste runs towards the typical kick in the door and shoot everyone or sneak in and steal the vital Documents game style punctuated with "boss Battles" against a Soviet Sickle Mecha or similar unit or Screaming dog-fights between the games various aircraft, with most of the strategic elements happening between missions in response to the PC's success or Failure.

What level of armor would the bears have?
Because, really, it's all about the bears.  :D

I'm restricting myself to 2 and 3 for now. Never played 1, wouldn't know anything about it.

1 is mostly generic modern tanks and stuff, exceptions are the Tesla Coil, Iron Curtain invulnerbility shield, the Chronosphere Time Travel/Teleporting(I think the time travel version is distinct from the teleport version) device. Never bought the expansions for RA 1, so I don't have more than that.

I've got most of the old C&C stuff from gleemax. Anyone want me to post it?
