The donkey is an imprisoned solar who will aid us in the end of the adventure.

Calling it right now.

(maybe make the donkey carry everyone's stuff rather than just Jaronk's.

As a donkey, he's only got a light load of about 87, so it's not like he can carry all that much without penalties to his hide score (and I intend for him to hide a lot).  If someone else wants to get an actual mule, they can carry more, but large creatures have a tough time actually getting most places.

Aw... what if he turns blue?

And Midnight... you know, a Magebreed Donkey makes a heck of a lot more sense than some weird Magebreed supermount.  I mean think about it... what's more likely to get specially bred for the task... a rare creature, or a super common work creature?

The mental image this brings is awesome.
Donkey lifts off, and moments later an AntiAircraft rocket impacts.

I was actually thinking that this would start out inside of a fabulous volcanoborne city. Inside a dead volcano and stuff, you know? Perfect place to start a fabulous city.

Oh and how do you guys want to meet? I'll get a map of said city scanned and uploaded and I'll let you decide where you want to start out, i.e in the shopping mall, in the tavern, in the church, etc. But you all have to meet eventually, and then it's up to you where to go.

EDIT: Is everyone ready? I believe that 5/6 people have submitted, and it looks to me like we're nearly ready. I'm going to apply for a subforum now.

What if he also casts Fire Immunity on it?

I feel like at least a couple of our characters are pretty weird people, so wherever we meet, it's likely to be in the seedy (or seedier) part of town.

I could always kill it with a hellfire warlock.

Seedy part of town sounds cool.

Actually, the explanation in Eberron is hilarious.  Magebreed animals are actually just well bred animals that have been bred for a specific purpose, but since everyone knows that weird animals are all created by crazy Wizards, everyone just assumes Magebreed animals are bred by mages.  Basically, it's an in game joke about the silliness of how many creatures have the explanation "a Wizard did it."

It's a very meta sort of in joke, and I love it.

And yeah, I'm ready to roll.  My character can be darn near anywhere, since he's specifically looking to go on adventures and make a name for himself and even to join an adventuring group.

Well he should fit right in in this city. How can you beat a volcanoborne city?

You forgot Vin Diesel. You especially need him in a survival/horror setting. He can kill people with teacups.

I feel like there should be some meeting place in a tavern.  My character knows all kinds of stories from his family of adventurers... I think the first thing he's going to want to do is go to a tavern and start looking for creepy old dudes in corners to give him adventures (wait, that sounds kinda wrong if you think about it).
