Too late. The door says "danger". What's the worst that could happen? >:)

The others sort of said something about elementals.

Kind of tiresome when people post what they are going to do and then dont wait around. I prefer direct action over talking about it.
Odin, Feral Shifter Feral Shifter. "Can I drown the dead rat now?"
Loke, Dread Magnate "Me all good and nice. Ask any questions and I`ll kill you twice."

DnD classes is kind of like art. You make lots of stuff that everyone loves but aint no fun to play. This one is like getting a nude pic of Britney Spears when she was hot above your bed.  Anyone can appreciate it. And it works as it should in practise, not just in theory. -Me to Strato regarding his Elemental

OOC: I thought the whole team was supposed to speak Terran? Kind of the point of having a special language... Anyways, if you plan on doing much summoning you *really* need to be able to talk to your beasties. Most summoners do good to take all the PHB languages...
Well, my character would unfortunately have little reason to learn Terran.  Fortunately, I actually have solutions to both of these problems.  The solutions aren't so great until level 6, though, so it's just a problem for the time being.

Sorry for my recent inactivity.  In-laws were here over the weekend... and with monday being the end of the quarter, work has been nuts the last two days.  I'm here for the next two though :)

Sooo... I`m moving to Oslo today and might not be able to post as frequently as I would like for the first few days. I`ll try and be around though.  ;)

Amalcon: Tongues, if thats what your hinting at, can be expensive at lower levels... A third lvl slot is a lot when you only have 3 for the day.  :P

So does a Daily Comprehend Languages. Can that be made permanent?
"No, no, don't think, Maya." Ritsuko chided. "We will not gattai the Evas or their pilots.

Such thoughts lead inevitably to transformation sequences."

Tongues in town, yes, but Speak with Animals is more efficient for communicating with summons (most of my summons are animals anyway).  Yeah, the Tongues can get a little expensive, so I might invest the ranks to learn Terran anyway (now that the Hoods count as a reason to).

Hmm, it seems as though I'm not getting notified when new posts go up here anymore. Oh well, I'll have to check more often.

Anyway, Speak With Animals won't work with most Summons from the Summon Monster table. Summoned monsters are actually Celestial or Fiendish, and are therefore Magical Beasts, not Animals. You can, however talk to them in Celestial or Infernal instead. Remember also that Speak Language is a normal skill (although cross-class for most classes), and putting a rank into it teaches you a new language.

Good luck with the move!

How far across is the pit? Jump-able for some?

edit: Or Narius can fly across, or Nagaina could snake her way through again. Plenty of options I guess.

Right, sorry. It's a 10' square pit, in the middle of a 15' wide room. So there's 2.5 feet on both sides of the pit. You can get across without jumping or flying, but if you enter combat while halfway past the pit, you'll have to make reflex saves or balance checks. The elementals won't attack you unless you attack them first or go into the pit.

Sooo I`m back. Most likely. The internet connection where I live has a bad habit of coming crashing down on me for some reason. I`ll try and get back to posting though.  ;)

Hey all. Real life has, unfortunately, hit me with a BIG HAMMER. Metaphorically speaking of course. Nothing terrible, just that work has been huge lately, and I've not had the energy to post when I get home or time to post at work.

I'm going to have to put the game on hiatus for a while. Sorry we didn't get further.
