Heh, I find it particularly amusing that a party with at least 4 potential B&E characters (Rogue/Swashbuckler, Rogue/Monk, Beguiler, Rogue/wizard), nobody's got open lock ranks. At least Myrd can search, find traps, and disable them.

Actually knock is one of my spells. So no dissing the beguiler for being awesome.  :fu

Also, I have axe, sledge, and crowbar in my inventory list.  :eh

Just got home from practice. Door is now open. Feel free to have a looksee.  :D

DnD classes is kind of like art. You make lots of stuff that everyone loves but aint no fun to play. This one is like getting a nude pic of Britney Spears when she was hot above your bed.  Anyone can appreciate it. And it works as it should in practise, not just in theory. -Me to Strato regarding his Elemental

You can't disable a lock, sadly. Doesn't work that way - the only parts of the mechanism that are exposed are the parts you need to unlock.

Just to point out that this is the case for any well designed trap as well, and it is explicitly legal in those situations. A mechanical trap is likely to be a more complex mechanism as well.

Yeah, I know, I know. It's something they've fixed in 4e with Thievery, but in 3e, opening locks requires Open Lock (or Knock), strange as it is.

So, am I off gathering info, and not with the group?

Heh, no, you're with the group. I decided that you could get that bit about how the guard blames Elinda for the demons in a few quick minutes. There's lots more Information to be Gathered, but you should come to the Tower Party.

Also, you're the top-down token with the rapier. I went and dug up some images, but got tired of doing that, so PI and Strat are just their forum Icons. I hope the three of you will post some character art if possible. Doesn't have to be fancy. Janus is the snake, but that kind of works anyway, heh.

My art is awesome, but not very recognisable... maybe change it to something with color....

Yeah, not every character portrait works out to a token all that well. In the end, it's not too huge a deal as I don't expect to spend a ton of time on the tac mat. In situations like this, though, with traps and 8 PCs wandering around, it helps me a lot to figure out who is where.

Oh, I posted a character pic on page 2 of this thread, noting that I'd move it somewhere else, if you preferred it elsewhere.  I'm guessing you missed it?

Where would you like me to place said pic?

Yeah, could you edit it in to your post in the Characters thread? I just found it, I'll update your token.

Hope noone minds me stabbing the door with my pole. I`ll take the risk. No point waiting until over the weekend for Myrd to come back.  ;)

EDIT: Hmmm seems I keep pushing things along when other people wants to safe it. However Dolos is a man of action that dont like to leave the spotlight unnecessary, so I`ll just roll along until something smacks him over the head.

I just didn't know if he wanted them in another spot, perhaps.  Then I forgot about it...

It's moved, btw.

I'm going to be posting fast-and-furious for a short time, so if people keep doing stuff, I'll keep following up. The only reason is, otherwise it takes a long time to get through this one part. There are a lot of doors.

Let me know if anyone else moves into the tower, or if the front door is released (it is also spring-loaded, and will close on its own if you don't do something about it).

Yeah, it's nothing crazy. You could prop the door open, or bang on the hinges with a hammer. Or with a DC 15 disable device check, do something like keep it from closing until you want it to.

Conjuration [Teleportation] is pretty clear, I'd say.

The transmutation spell on the other hand.....
