Only thing that seems weird now is the little "Mod" picture you guys had set up before.  It shows as a little frame on my screen.

I like that this version has a tab for "website"-- there's the link we had been looking for all this time!

Not all of the smilies are gone!  That's good!

There was some... affects... on gfu.  The log is gone.  I'll work on getting that back.

As for howsyourmuffin--- How's Your Muffin is our "parent company".  It's the umbrella under which all of our creative ventures belong.  Brilliant Gameologists is just the first.  Most others aren't gaming related, though there may be more.

Kai can attest that I used that for my signature in various places for years.

My avatar seemed fine.  Does it have something to do with the file size?  I know some people had avatars larger than the recommended size.  Might that have something to do with it?

Yeah, the little thing under your (the mods) names.  I know in the PbP area its "HM", for Honorary Moderator.... I can't quite remember what it looked like for the "Real" Mods.... was it the little BG symbol? 

In any case, its a broken frame on my computer.

Edit:  You know, it could just be my computer, cuz there are exactly 6 smilies that are working for me.  Is that how it is for everyone?

I have exactly six too.  I think these are the original Simple Mechanics Forum smilies.  Somehow, either the new smily files were lost, or the links were broken.

What happened was I imported a folder named 'boards' to store the upgrade files.  I however created it in the wrong location erasing all the software and mod files.  The database was fine so all the information came back. 

So two revelations:

Never for any reason import a folder with the same name as an important folder.
Having a backup of the database does you little good if you did not wreck that. 


Leading me to ask, whet the heck am i supposed to back up?

Basically every addition we've added was deleted-- so anyone who uploaded their avatar, any mod we'd installed, but also any attachment that anyone uploaded in a post.
