What does your music taste like?
« on: November 13, 2008, 04:40:29 PM »
I did a quick look-around in this section, nothing dedicated to music jumps to me :-\, so I decided to make one.

What kind of music you like? How bout those you can't go anywhere without? And those enrage you so much you want to puntuate your eardrum?
Please, fire away, you have my attention......

My music:

  Andrea Vollenweider
  Antonio De Lucena
  Darren Housholder
  Dream Theater
  Joe Satriani
  Simon and Garfunkel
  John Petrucci
  Maksim Marvica
Michael Jackson( Yeah, sue me :eh)
  Beatles(mmmm)
  Nightwish and Tarja Tururen
  Steve Vai
  Sarah Brightman
  Tina Turen
  U2( Teh awsome)

Well, I happen to have my Winamp on, so I get to list some of these great artists;)
A (big)part of the reason for this thread is: I want new stuff. The more the better. What would you recommend?

Oh, in case this topic is better suited for the plug in section, feel free to move;)

I have a 19-years-old cohabitant who is into SOFTCORE(imagine softer than frickin' Eminem) rap. It is THE worst music I've ever heard, minutely exceeds country music and Christmas carols.

oh, That and teen pop.

And I'm curious why would you lol at nightwish? Just curious.......

Woxy's frontpage. That doesn't work? I live in Finland and it works perfectly, I just listened to it 15 minutes ago.

Let's see:

Trivium (shoot me, I like their new album)
DevilDriver (favorite band)
Demon Hunter
In Flames (everything from Clayman on up)
All that Remains
Anything from Daisuke Ishiwatari (still trying to get the Overture soundtrack and I'm waiting for BB to be released before searching for it's music)
All of the Armored Core soundtracks, including 4 and 4A
A7X
Some anime songs
Maximum the Hormone
All of the Drakengard soundtracks (repetitave music soothes me for some reason)
the Chaos Legion soundtracks
Devil May Cry (everything from 3 and 4)
The Dethalbum
Some Final Fantasy music
A dash of Korn
Large qantities of Latin chanting
Panzer Dragoon Orta's OST
.Hack//GU's OSTs
.Hack//ROOTS OST
The Halo trilogy
Lots of Incubus
Some Dimmu Borgir
The Hellsing OSTs
Disturbed (both of their newest albums)

So, I've got quite a bit on my Ipod. A lot of it is anime and gaming music, but the majority is all Guilty Gear music (because it rocks). A lot of people would say I'm a sell-out fan, seeing as most of my metal music is from when the band went famous onward (I started listening to Trivium at their Ascendency album, I only listen to In Flames if it is after their Clayman album, all of the Disturbed I have is post-Down with the Sickness, and I listen to Dimmu Borgir period). No one can say this about my favorite band though, as I've listened to DevilDriver for years now.

Oh, and I can't stop listening to the Armored Core 4A soundtrack because of how awesome it is. And Latin Chanting makes everything better.

Plastic, with a hint of silicon.

I like the majority of Rock & Roll.
I really enjoy Billy Joel, Kansas, Boston, Queen
Video Game remixes currently take up a lot of room on my hard drive, and there's a lot of good ones.
Also, Classical stuff: Canon in D, Carol of the Bells, Toccatta in Fugue (in D minor) etc...

I don't know, I clicked the play button and it says that. Weird.

Edit: Found out how it worked. It needs WMP to play, attempting to resolve

The aacPlus option ought to work with VLC. Open it with it directly.

Top 3:
Iron Maiden
The Ramones
The Jolts

In general I like:
classic rock
psychedelic rock/electric blues
oldschool punk rock
classical music (none of that Vivaldi crap, gimme Beethoven, Wagner or JS Bach!)

Dislikes:
Most country (with the exception of Johnny Cash)
Hip hop/rap (with the exception of some of the older stuff like Run DMC)
Pop, particularly the boy band/girl band cheerleader wannabes filling up the airwaves with their shit
The White Stripes!!!  Jack's voice makes me see red!
Christmas carols.  On the day, they're fine, but broadcast through every store, mall, and radio for the entire fucking winter?  NOT OKAY!!!
PbP Games

The Ramones
The who?
No, not The Who, The Ramones!  It's a completely different band!   :lol
The Ramones more or less started the whole punk rock thing back in the 70s.

Actually, they got their name from the cola, same as me.  My best friend is the singer/guitarist.

None of those groups would have started if it wasn't for the Ramones.
