Putting this in here since it seems relevant.

How do you give our or take Gameology-fu? It's talked about like anyone can, but I can't figure it out for the life of me. I've been checking the various topics about it and I can't find anything. Am I having a giant moment of blinding stupidity or is there something to it?

There's a minimum post count before it gives you the option.

Okay, thanks. What's the number of posts needed?

EDIT: Is there any chance this could be added to one of the stickies or the help or something? It was really frustrating to try and infer all this out without it being said.

Yep, it's a secret, to prevent post spamming to the point where it's unlocked. If you participate normally in discussions, it should open up soon enough.

That doesn't really make much sense, since if someone cares to spam to get it, they'll do that anyway. But okay.

It gives them a reason they might not initially have to spam. Fu was a hotly prized commodity at one point.

Such thoughts lead inevitably to transformation sequences."

And, more importantly, who the fuck wants to spam fu?

My guess would be they didn't want people to make alts for this purpose.  Still, my understanding is Meg tends to look into these things anyway, so it probably wouldn't get to far before it was caught.

Mine works.  IIRC, we had a similar issue with something like this a while back. Try going to your forum options. There are two options for 'English' under languages, try selecting the other one and see if that helps...
By the way, this did end up working for me the next time I tried it.  Perhaps I selected the wrong 'English' option the first time I tried to fix it.

Hmm, since one of the english languages is broken, maybe rename it so people can tell the difference?

If I remember correctly the languages are part of the boards software and not something that can be tinkered with by admins/mods unfortunately.

Ah, well, I know it's unwise to actually delete one, or change the internal name(one of the iterations of Dicefreaks died after a hacker fried the default theme that way IIRC, since all the admins and mods used that theme, they can't get in no more), but at least tweaking the displayed name might be possible.

I moved the change in fu discussion to the Board Changes thread so all of the conversation about upcoming changes can be in 1 place.

Fu is off.  FYI.  When we decide what we are going to do with it instead with the "relaunch" of the boards, we'll let everyone know.
