My DM doesn't like ToB for flavour reasons. He says there's no reason why maneuvers should be expended - all you're doing is hitting something, so why shouldn't you be able to hit it over and over again in the same way? He reckons magic and martial studies are completely different, and ToB puts too much magic-like mechanics onto non magic classes.
Because if you repeat exactly what you've done six seconds later, they're going to see it coming.  If you mix it up a little in between, they'll be caught off guard the next time.
Linguist, Mad, Unique, none of these things am I

^ yah really, just ask him to let you reflavor it as a different type of psionics or something. That makes perfect sense. At least, concentrating really hard makes more sense than conjuring a ball of fire from nothingness. a lot of disputes can be solved by reflavoring, more than people realize.

Flavor-wise, maneuvers require certain positioning and focus to use.  Once used, one must refocus.
Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"
