The tier system in a nutshell:

Tier 3: An expert marksman, cartographer and chef who can tie strong knots and is trained in hostage negotiation or a marksman so good he can shoot down every bullet fired by a minigun while armed with a rusted single-shot pistol that veers to the left.
Tier 2: Someone with teleportation, mind control, time manipulation, intangibility, the ability to turn into an exact duplicate of anything, or the ability to see into the future with perfect accuracy.

No, not entirely true.  For G-Fu related stuff, I have to say that JaronK generally makes good posts.  Phoenix_Inferno is also decent, but he's always been more about implying the truth instead of outright saying it, which sometimes makes it kinda confusing where he stands.

The remaining good posters just don't post a lot, are generally good most of the time but way off base on occasion, or don't post where I frequent most, so I really don't have enough to call them out for their coolness.

There are also a few people who post TONS and are just full of utter crap.  No need to list, they know who they are.

I forgot about Tshern, but Meg, Josh, and Zeke are, from my point of view, good posters that I don't run into often enough on the forum to be really justified in giving props to.

...besides, I would bet real life money that there aren't even 5 guys on the forum that wouldn't give props to Meg, including myself.  :P

Actually, I've been lurking for two years and not till recently posting anything, so I made quite a list of people I respect since the gleemax days. It would just be too much to post them all. :P
My greatest regret is not seeing Tempest Stormwind on this board. :(

There's only one person on this forum that meets my standards for being respected. That person is Ubernoob. Everyone else I either don't know enough for them to even have had a chance to earn my respect, or have done something to earn my disrespect. The latter group knows who they are. The former group needs more observation.

No suck up answers here by naming off all the top brass by default. I don't know you, you don't make the list. Simple as that.

Needs more visibility.  Low post count means people just haven't noticed you much.

Edit: I'd prefer not to make a list.  I'm almost guaranteed to miss people that I do respect simply because they aren't on the top of my head.  There are at least two dozen or so though.

Eh, I respect anyone who doesn't earn my disrespect, and that takes a LOT of work.  Ideas are more important than the names behind those ideas, and if you chose to respect an idea based on how well you recognize the name, that leads to groupthink and either disrespecting perfectly good ideas or respecting stupid ones.

I mean, I had no idea who Robby was for example, but his ideas were good so I listened to him.  If I cared so much about whether I respected someone in advance, I might have ignored his ideas.

I can think of a few posters who I don't like, but whose ideas are great, as well.

A little disclaimer: When the end of the world comes about in 2012, anyone on my respect list shall be given a swift and merciful death at the hands of Slaanesh's daemonettes.

And a handful of others. But as much as I appreciate the Gameologists, I'm more indifferent to them than respectful. It isn't that I don't like them, I just don't have a view of them that can be deemed respectful or otherwise. To me, they just run the place.
